It was a great experience to sleep in a church. So much history, such a beautiful place! And such a warm welcoming from Andreas and Kris! Lovely room, very clean! And many things to see in the environment like Elgin Cathedral, Glen Moray Distillery and more. A "must" for everybody! Thanks!

Lovely old church, near the sea, on north east corner of Scotland. Spey bay nearby (7 miles, turn at Fochabers and follow signs for Whale and Dolphin Centre) is a must for viewing Dolphins, they come to the mouth of the Spey river to eat the Salmon and trout the river is famous for. Saw two playing on our first visit (around 11am in the morning). Take binoculars to view closer. Lossiemouth, around 6 miles the other way has silver sands. Heading south you can follow the whisky trail to Grantown and Spey, go to Elgin (5 miles) and take the road to Perth. Many distilleries are on this road, or a slight detour from it. Aberlour distillery is just at the end of Aberlour village - would recommend the 16 year old malt (made in sherry casts and well balanced). The church itself is built on a knoll and has a garden around it which is great for exploring before breakfast. The porridge is yummy - try the holy porridge, made with milk, honey and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixed on it. Rooms are very comfortable and there are two guest lounges. If you are in this area, this is the place to stay.

Excellent welcome and food. Clean, comfortable room. High expectations met.
Cawdor Castle is not far away with gardens, excellent woodland walks and a range of shops. Good value. Spey Bay is unmissable for nature lovers

Room Tip: We chose the family room as a suite for two. Very spacious. Very good value.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom large. The place has a lot of character and the hosts made us feel so welcome with a guided tour of the church on arrival. The gardens are beautiful. The food was very tasty with imaginative dishes served. The hosts are also dog friendly I would highly recommend staying in this quirky place situated in a beautiful part of Scotland.

Room Tip: We had the family room for 3 adults which was very comfortable

If you are looking for a different B&B experience, stay at the Parrandier! The rooms were nice and well furnished with multiple lounges to sit, read and relax. We had both dinner & breakfast, and the dinner was definitely excellent quality and value as compared to the breakfast. The hosts were welcoming and very nice, but seemed a bit rigid as compared to traditional Scottish B&B stays elsewhere. The £5 surcharge if you use your credit card to pay for the room was a shocker, but not surprising considering the host's demeanor.

Important to mention regarding the CREDIT CARD fee...ALL guests are getting informed about our wide range of 'Methods of Payment' and any fees at the earliest possible stage; usually with our offer as a reply to their enquiry.
Thanks to this guest comment I am able to state this at this point -as it is as well stated on my website- for the benefits of future guests; also these guests have paid a deposit via credit card and therefore should be not shocked at all at there departure as they have paid the fee in relation to their deposit!

I am glad that the guests has experienced us as an unusual and comfortable place to stay!
We are indeed not only due to the fact being a church building unusual, we are as well very much different by eg. offering
--> huge public spaces for guests including 2 lounges (extending to around 100 sqm)
--> every evening a 3-course DINNER at the spectacular main lounge upstairs with the comfort of being fully licensed to serve drinks (including a good selection of malt whisky)
--> grounds extending to appr. 2 acres of lawn, flower beds, forest, with a lily pond, little waterfall and so much more to explore...
This for prices on an average B&B level and therefore run by only my partner and myself (without any employee)...this has to come with some restrictions compared with the average B&B of 2 bedrooms or a hotel with plenty to serve...and sorry, it means that we have to treat the Methods of Payment guests are choosing differently!
