We have lunch at the Muckle Cross every time we go to Elgin. The food is always good, generous portions and good value. I recently had a turkey dinner and all the trimmings plus a pint of real ale for £7.95. The calories are listed beside each dish on the menu for the weight consious and the beer selection is excellent and the best value around. Real ale pints for less than £2.00. Some of the other pubs in the area who charge £3.50 a pint and often criticise this pub by saying they get their casks just before they go off so that is whay they charge so little. All I can say is that we have never had a bad pint at this pub and if we did, I am sure they would replace it free of charge. The only negative is that you often have to stand at the bar for a while to get served (but that is mostly because they are busy)
