“good ,bad and average”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

as we were staying next door at the premier inn we did eat here a few times, the first was on a friday at 16-30and we wanted to eat at the bar seating area but the guy in charge said that was the waiting area for when it gets busy, i said we are only in for 30 minutes but he was insistent, minus mark for that matey, the thing i hate about these places is the unruly kids running around ignored by there ignorant parents so we like to sit away from the brats. However i had to bite my tongue and sit where instructed, we ordered sandwiches and chips and what we got was cold fare served on a cold plate, yuk.
Next day, we went for brunch and i had a great curry spoiled by a brick hard nan bread but at least we sat where we wanted.
The third day we had breakfast which was very good and staff nice, i think the grimy young guy in charge on the friday could take a lesson from the friendly breakfast staff

“Depends Why You Are Visiting.”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

We visit occasionally and is convenient for us. It helps if you know how the place works. It is great if you have children and are looking for a place to celebrate a birthday or use the soft play area. It is not a place to go if you are looking for a romantic dinner. It can become very noisy and sometimes the children are running about. We visit at teatime and it is short. There are some deals usually on offer and it depends on what you choose from the menu. Some of it will be frozen dishes and some would have to be cooked fresh. The staff are very attentive as long as they are not too busy. If there is a problem with your meal the staff will sort it out. Good choice and reasonable prices on the menu but don't visit if they are very very busy ( a weekend perhaps) as it can take a while. .

“Seems A Change in Saturday Staff is Required?”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Supposed to be a young child's birthday treat. We didn't pick a particularly busy period of the evening either; there were still many Reserved tables as yet to be occupied. So despite a full complement of young trendy staff wandering about our small party of 4 were kept waiting to be seated, for our order to be collected and for the table to cleared ready for desserts. The food was reasonable, not inspiring; I know not to order the Beef and Ale pie again. The best was yet to come, over 15minutes to wait for table service to take our dessert order, that's more than 15minutes since our plates were cleared and the request for dessert was noted! In the end, and to save further distress to our young birthday boy, we up sticks and paid our bill for the food we did consume. Utter rubbish staff Whitbread - get it sorted.
