we stayed at the Eight Acres for 2 nights, with dinner on the 1st night. The facilites were excellent, with a very comfortable room; bathroom was sparkling.
Dinner was just fantastic; personlly I don't like my lamb quite so pink but it was incredibly tender, flavoursome & a great portion: starters & sweet were also excellent. staff were very helpful. Only comment about the dining room, (which is verry tastefully decorated) is that it could benefit from some background music, as it's VERY quiet & when chat stops (whispers as anyone can hear) one can feel a little awkward about blethering.
Throughout the hotel, all decor is fresh, coordinated & very tasteful. We stayed here a few years ago, & it looks so much fresher since then!!
Breakfast was also lovely, tho no fresh fruit salad was on the buffet. Coffee was tasty.

Spa - pool has a low ceiling, a wee it claustrophobic, & the time I tried, was busy with 'older' swimmers concentrating on their lengths. Pool is a generous size, Sauna was segregated, which is likely safest, but a shame for chatty couples.

Only fly in the ointment for us was .. ... the keys in bedrooms: as most hotels have autolocking doors,, we forgot toturn the key in our door on day 1:
so, relaxing of an afternoon with a bottle of bubbly .. .. as couples do .. .. . we nearly had a heart attack when a lost guest tried his key in our door, thought he'd unlocked it & started to walk in, til he saw the room was occupied. He apologised & disappeared rapido! We hyperventilated !!

So, can I suggest Reception remind guests at checkin about always locking their door manually for their security & safety? It covers us dopey guests!!
Would stay again in a flash.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 23, as it is above the front door & catches noise from engines idling++ at time - th...

Many thanks for your review, we appreciate all your comments. The Hogmanay dinner was arranged based on feedback from our guests last year, the majority of the 140 guests were delighted with the set up and thoroughly enjoyed the party atmosphere we created, all groups who advised us they were together in advance were duly accommodated at the same table.
We always review our programmes and will take your comments on board.
Thank you once again for your review.

My family and I stayed here this weekend for 1 night and had an amazing time. We had a family room (number 50) and it was spotless - 3 adults in the room and there was more than enough space for us all plus bags.

Check in was very smooth - Amie on reception was very friendly and helpful, and checked us in early as the room was available. Dinner was included in our deal and it was superb, so tasty. Maggie and Xavier were the staff on that evening and they really couldn't do enough for us - superb service and good banter too, very nice friendly people! They work hard and were also on in the morning for breakfast the next day too - which again was superb. Thanks also to Gary the night porter for looking after us.

All in all a great family break away, made special by the hotel and staff - many thanks. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Stayed here with 3 other couples from 30th Dec for 3 nights, on arrival was welcomed by lovely reception staff, meals were good and the Hogmanay party was as expected although the meal was around 30-45 minutes delayed due to shortage of tables, the staff work hard and are extremely friendly, we went to book a 2 day package but the hotel refused to take the booking, that's a
Loss of 5 rooms guys!! The entertainment on the 1st was a bit of a let down and we left to sit in the lounge.

Many thanks for your review, we are delighted you enjoyed the New Year package. We have taken on board your comments with regards to entertainment, we review our packages every year so this information is invaluable going forward. With regards to returning next year, we do only operate a 3 night package at this stage. For the last four years we have been completely fully booked for the entire 3 nights, from a business point of view we have to wait until later in the year to make the decision on a 2 night package. We will keep you updated.

went to this hotel for a twixmas break and had a really nice time rooms were lovely ! clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed the gym and swimming pool/sauna/gym (although a mixed sauna would be very nice when you are away as a couple) evening meals were very nice and the dining room is lovely breakfast was hit and miss! no porridge available which i found rather strange and hot food was buffet style and was very greasy when near the bottom of the containers the bacon was only of the smoked variety which i love but my husband hates and the sausages were very herby and neither of us enjoyed them overall it was a good value for money break though table service would be much better at breakfast i would recommend this hotel to family and friends without hesitation

Room Tip: we were in room 25 which was very nice and although at the front was not at all noisy
