We had a fantastic family holiday at this fantastic, well equipped, modern, super clean , well located and beautifully decorated lodge. We would totally recommend to others.
The lodge is beautiful and has everything you could need. It really is a home from home. All weathers catered for and extra touches make it an easy place to stay. From cooking an evening meal to going on beach trips, there is so much equipment in the lodge to make these things easy to do.
As well as us, our children had a wonderful time. There was some outdoor space for them to run around and whilst it was next to other lodges we felt as if we had our privacy as the other lodges aren’t on top of each other.
From dining outside on the gorgeous veranda, to the copious amount of games to play for rainy days, stunning scenery out of the window , feeding the little squirrel that lives in the garden and super comfortable beds we loved every minute of our stay .
It's well located in a quiet part of the island and there is so much to do on Arran, from interesting picturesque walks, stunning beaches, interesting local visitor centres and amazing food.
Location wise we were in a great spot and very quiet. A little walk to the nearest village but its doable. Most attractions on the island are a car/bus ride away but with the scenery Arran has on offer it was never a dull trip.
Susan and Gerry the owners were so hospitable, bending over backwards to ensure we had everything to hand and our needs were catered for before, during and after our trip .
We fully intend to revisit Arran in the future as it had so much to offer our family of 6 and when we do we will certainly stay in this wonderful lodge again.
Ar Fasgadh is a fantastic holiday base! Well equipped, clean, comfortable and relaxing! Gerry and Susan the owners have gone above and beyond to ensure that everything was just so for our arrival. The location is beautiful with plenty to do and see across the Isle of Arran.
We stayed at this fantastic holiday lodge on our first trip to Arran. The lodge is both decorated and equipped to an extremely high standard and is immaculately clean. The owners Gerry and Susan were there to meet us on arrival and are lovely friendly helpful people. There were lots of very helpful information books and leaflets provided in the lodge with regards to what to do in Arran which was great for us. The lodge is set in beautiful countryside a short walk from Blackwaterfoot Beach which is stunning.
We highly recommend this lodge and Arran itself. Our whole family enjoyed it and we'd definitely love to return again sometime in the future.
The lodge has everything you need Gerry and Susan are very thoughtful hosts. From the welcome pack to the phone call on the first night to ensure everything was ok.
Red squirrels on the feeders outside the window every morning.
We played golf, went to the beach and relaxed on the lodge decking during our stay.
A week was not enough time to do everything we wanted to do.
We will definitely be returning.
Great location and spotless and excellent equipped lodge. Home from Home.
Close to golf course and beach .The owners made us very welcome and kept in touch during our stay to make sure everything was ok.
Hope we can return in near future.
This was our second visit to Ar Fasgadh in two years and Gerry and Susan have kept the lodge up to a very high standard with everything you will need for a great holiday.
The lodge is equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speaker, Smart TV, Games console, Board games, Sun loungers, Gas barbecue and even a store of seeds and nuts for feeding the local birds and red squirrels.
The lodge is a great base for any type of holiday from adventure to lazy. We had a bit of a mix with walks to the Glenashdale falls & Giants graves in Whiting Bay, Fairy Dell in Lochranza, both taking around 2 hours and then did the Three Bienns walk which took 6 and a half hours, all walks were amazing. We had a day lounging about the lodge and a couple of drives round the island stopping off at various locations. We did a gorge walk which was great fun sliding down waterfalls and jumping into deep pools and then a had a relaxing massage at the Auchrannie Spa.
We took a 15 minute walk from the lodge into Blackwaterfoot and had a really lovely meal at the Kinloch hotel followed by a walk along the beautiful beach before heading back to the lodge.
Arran is a beautiful place for a holiday and I would highly recommend Ar Fasgadh lodge as your base, we will definitely be back for a third visit.
We had our four kids with us, the house was superbly equipped, couldn't have asked for more. The welcome gifts upon arrival was a brilliant surprise. Great location, not far from Blackwaterfoot, which has well stocked grocers, butcher and swimming pool (at the Kinloch Hotel). The beauty of Arran is that you can get to anywhere from anywhere. The house was clean and spacious. Would highly recommend it.
