Amazing place. Very atmospheric.
Lovely scenery all around and a great place to walk.
We walked here as a side trip while walking the Arran Coastal Way.

“Lovely walk”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

I visited the moor stones during a rainy day. Wear appropriate footwear to enjoy the walk. You will walk through farm, pass farm gates, say hello to little sheeps and lambs... full of natural beauty.. The pathway is properly laid with walking track... just follow that and it will take you to the Moor stone circles. The path is well signed with direction boards .. You will not loose your track... Enjoy your walk.

“Lovely walk, very interesting!”
Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Wear proper footwear as you do walk through fields with sheep, and it is a good walk... But well worth it when you are the stones! Very picturesque area (saw lots of newborn sheep too!)

“well worth the walk”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

This is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the UK and I am loathe to share as the emptiness of the moor adds to the splendour

“Perfectly moody setting for a stone circle”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Set in the perfectly moody Machrie Moors, these stones are worth a visit- but do bring your wellies as the grounds are extremely boggy and you won't be able to get to all the stones on dry feet otherwise.
