Myself and my boyfriend stayed here in December along with our dog. Alan provided useful step by step directions from the ferry prior to arrival which meant we could easily find the lodge. It was only us staying however it is amply size for more people to stay with 3 bedrooms (2 double rooms and 1 suitable for children), an open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, a main bathroom and 1 en-suite it is ideal for families. Perfect location to travel around the island which was handy. As we arrived just after Christmas it was a nice touch that Christmas decorations were up and the owners had even left us a nice card and gift!
Will be back and definitely recommend.
Three of us stayed here over new year. The weather was cold, wet and windy but the house was warm and cosy and we could watch the weather changing over the hills. Great views. Everything you could possibly need is provided and the TV is great! The stay was well organised in advance and Allan kept in touch while we were there. Would definitely recommend.
The location near the west coast of Arran at the end of The String road was excellent for getting anywhere on the island quickly, especially Brodick for supplies.
The lodge is located among a collection of similar properties, but well spread out, quiet and with private parking right outside. For two of us there was masses of room. The TV has surround sound, but we didn't use it much.
There's plenty to see on Arran for a week - the highlight for us was a RiB trip to Ailsa Craig with Ocean Breeze RiB Tours. Highly recommended.
Location of the lodge in Blackwaterfoot was great. There were lovely walks to the beach and local hotel within minutes. Other places on the island easily reached. The lodge is very well equipped and you could cook and eat in if you wished. Bedrooms comfortable and excellent showers in bathroom and en suite.
Stayed at Jacqui and Allan's place a few times over the years, most recently in August 2017 and it's like a home away from home. Easily reached from Brodick, the Angely lodge is a ten minute walk from the Shiskine Golf Club and The Kinloch Hotel. The bus stop is walkable from the lodge as are various local shops. The cottage itself is family friendly and spacious with Sky TV as well as an excellent surround sound system and all a family would need on a holiday break. Can't recommend the property enough, 5 stars!
Wonderful, spacious accommodation with everything you need, in a stunning location and a mile from the wonderful Blackwaterfoot Bay, with it's butcher, meat to die for, and the excellent Kinloch Hotel, reasonably priced food and an excellent bitter brewed especially for them.
We really couldn't have asked for more from our stay, falling in love with the relaxed and tranquil atmosphere on Arran and loving every minute of our stay.
I was informed by Allan, (the owner), good friend and business associate, of this retreat a while back. When finally getting a break from a busy schedule and taking him up on the offer of a few days away, with my family, I've come to realise that it was a great move to make.
We stayed a few nights and cannot compliment this lodge enough! Apart from its beautiful location, deep in the heart of Shiskine valley, it boasts a trendy, contemporary decor, which is relaxing and probably the best environment a family could ask for.
Will most definately be booking up again and for anyone thinking of booking, I thoroughly recommend.
