My friend and I are walking the walk over several years and have stayed at many places. Morven House is a great place to stay. It is right on the route we were taking and just on the edge of town (very quiet) making it an easy 5 minute walk to the centre. We were made to feel very welcome by Martin and Janet who have just taken over the business and doing an excellent job with the redecoration. There local knowledge of places to eat was great and we managed to find a nice place for supper thanks to them. The rooms were spacious with very good ensuite facilities. The breakfast was excellent as was the packed lunch that we asked for. The guest lounge has a lovely log fire making the house feel warm and cosy and a very nice bar area too. I would defiantely stay again.

Pleased to see that you both made it back in one piece, and we welcome more walkers who just want to pop in and spend a restful night before their onward journey, and I am sure if you are passing this way again I will sound reveille 5 minutes before breakfast. Keep up the walking I am sure you will eventually finish your quest. And you are more then welcome to stay again.

Stayed for a total of seven nights over a two week period, very comfortable, warm hospitality, beautifly cooked breakfast, spotlessly clean throughout, the only "caveat" is that the one single occupancy room available is somewhat small and cramped, however, there are plans to rectify this situation in the future. The new owners, Martin and Janet deserve to do well with this business venture.

It was a pleasure having you stay, and we look forward to having you again in the future. The single unfortunately is the only one we have and this was how we took it over, (bijou) to say the least, changes are afoot in the future.

We stayed here in March 2012 for 1 night (found through Google) and can thoroughly recommend it. We had a twin room overlooking the garden, very spacious, good flat screen tv, nice toiletries, good quality biscuits on the hospitality tray, spotlessly clean everywhere and very comfortable beds. Breakfast in the morning was good (bacon superb) and we had a peaceful night's sleep. Hosts Martin & Janet are friendly and helpful. We would stay again, definitely. Also there is a very well appointed guest lounge with leather sofas, large wood-burning stove and a dazzling chandelier with dimmer switch which I loved! You could watch TV in there if you didn't fancy being in your room.

Lovely warm & welcoming owners, great breakfast, spotless room.
Overall would highly recommend. Ideal location for exploring the area, or if just passing through for the night. High standard Guest House giving excellent value for money.
Well Done to the new owners Martin & Janet.

We occupied two rooms in this B&B - one a family room and the other a single. The family room was excellent, with bunk beds for my two children, spacious, and a view to the side of the building. The bathroom was a little dated, but functional. The curtain rail fell down when we pulled the curtains which required some emergency screw-driving with a Swiss army knife, but it wasn't an issue.

The other room had the en-suite - toilet and shower - right next to the head of the bed, separated by a perspex screen, so that the person in bed had their head next to the toilet; this was a little disconcerting.

There was plenty of room outside for my children to safely run around. The breakfast was lovely, and the owners friendly, helpful and welcoming. We chose this place as a stop-over on the way to somewhere else, and would use it again for the same purpose.

Hi KM, just wanted to say hi and many thanks for taking the time to offer some feed back of which we do take importantly, it was a pleasure to have you and your family here to stay on your journey North.

Yes room 3 (small single) is a bit of a short straw room we tend to only use when really busy, its all in there i.e. en suite/freeview TV/ tea-coffee etc but it's just a bit small!! (I seem to remember we did do a deal on the room ;-)

Not sure what happened to the the curtains :-( but really pleased you all enjoyed your breakfast, and most of all we may see you back again one day, take care.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The owners have taken over about 3 years ago & transforming a 70's b&b to more up-to-date, although taking some time they will get there. Very friendly people. Great potential . We stayed in Room 4 with a lovely view out to the front, but could have done with more wardrobe space plus a full length mirror. Shower a bit of a let down, investment in a pump required to boost the trickle. I would stay here again.
