Enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Boath House last weekend. The surroundings are beautiful, the food was spot on and the service was flawless. The 6 course taster menu is absolutely brilliant - really interesting and creative dishes. It was no trouble at all for them to change one of the options for me, and it was the best chocolate pudding I have ever tasted - don't tell my Mum!

Food and service of this calibre can often feel fussy and pretentious. Not the case at Boath House where you are made to feel welcome and comfortable, like you are part of the family.

Congratulations to the owners, Jonny and the team!

Creative cooking and presentation, discrete and attentive, knowledgeable service. We visited 5 establishments of high reputation in a row and for us Boath House have that little, but important edge. Nice drawing room for aperitives and nice dining room.

The service was wonderful and always willing to help. We went for an afternoon tea and when we entered we were greeted at the door and then seated by the fire. It was a cold day and the house was inviting. We enjoyed ever aspect from the champagne and sandwiches to the scone and gateau. Will definitely return.

Really lovely location and very good service. Trying hard on the food front as well. Of our five courses we had two good ones. The others were cold or very disappointing or both (and it was not busy). Two were so similar we actually said to them we thought we had had it already! Ok it was meant slightly as a joke but there is always truth in humour.

We wrote and fed back our thoughts and disappointment. In fairness they offered us another visit with a substantial discount. We haven't taken them up on it and have no intention to.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and complement the service you received during your stay with us. I cannot place your face as it has been quite some time since we have received negative comments about our food. Hopefully you will have a change of heart and decide to take us up on the offer made to you as we would welcome the chance to leave you with a better taste in your mouth.

Sincerely,

Jonny Ross.
