We were booked in here by our travel agent and I must say this is an exceptional B&B. It is first class all the way. We were greeted at the door by Liz the owner/host who provided excellent information on what to do in the area and showed us to our room. The accommodation was very nice and the most upscale of our entire two week trip to Scotland. The room was exceptionally clean and inviting. The breakfast was very hearty with a menu of choices and was most satisfying. Liz made sure that you had whatever you needed or where to get what she could not supply. All in all one of the highlights of our trip was staying here at the Sandown House!

We stayed at Sandown House on the 3rd September. What a fantastic upmarket B&B. Welcomed by Liz (co-owner) who could not have been more helpful. Delightful accomodation with everything one could want and fabulous breakfast - smked salmon and scrambled eggs or full Scottish including Stornoway black pudding, mushrooms and homemade bread. Most of the cliemtele that day were golf mad as I am and as are the owners!

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent

Fine room, excellent breakfast, wonderful hosts, this charming B&B is off the beaten path but close to the great golf and the lively downtown in Nairn.
Have a great breakfast here, a top-notch dinner at The Classroom restaurant just five minutes down the road, and a simple lunch at whatever world-class golf club you might be visiting in the neighborhood..Nairn, Nairn Dunbar and Castle Stuart are all within 10 minutes, 15 at the very most...simple as pie!

Liz worked for others in the hospitality business before opening her B&B and it shows. This place is first class across the board - great, clean, well furnished rooms; fantastic breakfast; well thought out bathroom and help with all the little stuff (restaurant recommendations and reservations, etc.). Liz is also lovely on a personal level and goes out of her way to make sure you have a great stay. I loved it and it is now my go to choice in the area- take my advice and make it yours, you won't regret it.

Spent two nights in courtyard room on upper floor. Cannot fault the room, service or breakfast. Hospitality from proprietor Liz was exceptional and professional, and nothing too much trouble.
Rooms are beautifully and freshly decorated and furnished. Breakfast is nicely cooked to order with excellent variety and no self service.
Premises have own parking and are located down a quiet lane. Walkable over golf course to the seaside. Not really walkable to Nairn town centre, but short taxi ride and Liz will of course help with this as well as recommendations for places to eat - she will book them too!
Comfortable guests' lounge in original house.
Highly recommended - well deserves its current accolades.

Room Tip: We had room 3 on courtyard upper floor, with country views and sneaky glimpses of the firth. Lower floor has minor privacy issues to car park. Original house has two rooms, a bit smaller. All rooms decorated in similar style but courtyard rooms are more spacious. Go for upper courtyard, but all are lovely.
