The man was so friendly and helpful when he showed us the ropes ! Really felt we knew everything when he left us , the boat was spotless , so clean and immaculate , beds very comfy
We just loved everything about this holiday , the photos of the Eriskay don't actually do it justice , it was bigger and better than it looks .

“The perfect way to see Scotland”

Last October we booked a holiday with Caley Cruisers aboard the Eriskay for a weeks cruising through the Lochs and down the Caledonian Canal. Right from the beginning Audrey and her team made the holiday a great experience. Booking was fast and efficient and we were provided with everything we needed to know about the holiday. Upon arrival the team made us feel very welcome, we received our tuition from Bob who soon had us feeling confident and maneuvering the boat in every direction possible before we left the boat yard.

The facilities aboard Eriskay provided us with all that we needed and as we had decided to spend the week mooring away from the villages the kitchen and onboard facilities were certainly put to the test and there was always a lovely hot shower at the end of the day. We were provided with our own boating guide and map, which were very clear and easy to use, the Loch Keeper’s were all very friendly as we passed through. The British Waterways facilities along the route were very clean and warm which was welcoming in October.

We spent our week mooring at pontoons, jumping of the boat and scrambling high up the banks of the glens to get a better view of the fantastic scenery that we were cruising though. We also visited Foyers and Urquhart Castle, which were beautiful.

We travel to Scotland twice a year for our main holidays for a few years now, so have stayed in various places and in various types of accommodation. This has been by far the best holiday we have had in Scotland. Normally when in the Highlands you look at the scenery and admire at its beauty, but aboard the Eriskay cruising down the lochs you become surrounded by it and you get to spend a week living within the majestic scenery and almost become apart of it. We are booked for another week aboard Eriskay in April and are already counting down the days until we are back cruising down Loch Ness once again.

We made a video of our holiday with Caley Cruisers, which can be seen on YouTube: http://youtu.be/UjTDZ3uSSqg

“Majestic Scenery, Relaxing and Great Fun Too!”

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last September on the Eriskay and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We have taken boating holidays on the Caledonian Canal with Caley Cruisers several times now and have never been disappointed. We keep getting drawn back by the majestic scenery and the unique experience this type of holiday provides.
Audrey and her team will make you very welcome and after a short spell of friendly tuition to make sure you are comfortable handling the boat, you will be off on your great adventure! The Eriskay is a modern comfortable cruiser with all the facilities on board you would expect. The boat is easy to manoeuvre and you quickly gain your confidence in handling her.
The locks on the Caledonian Canal are all manned and operated by friendly Lock Keepers, so there is nothing to worry about there. Along the way there are many places to moor up and some good places to eat - I recommend The Fiddlers at Drumnadrochit.
The only cautious tip I would provide is not to fill the boat to capacity. You could potentially sleep five on the Eriskay but it would be very very cosy! Two or three on the Eriskay is perfect. If there are five of you go for one of the bigger boats.

“Great week in Scotland”

I had this boat with a couple of friends last September, for most of us it was the first holiday on water. Eriskay is very comfortable and can accomodate up to 5 people, has all the neccessary facilities (toaster included) and we actually managed to cook and serve a diner for five, four of which were hungry males ;)
Beds are comfortable, the boat is clean, she has a shower capable of constant water heating as long as the engine is running and if you get cold, the heater will warm the interior in a matter of minutes.
Very easy to handle, bow thruster makes manouvering a piece of cake and after few attempts you'll park her easily in reverse. The staff is also very friendly and the tips they give you at the familiarization trip are usefull and give you confidence throughout your entire holiday. After the trip they offered to give us a lift to the bus station in Inverness with no charge.
Fuel comsumption is very reasonable although if you feel like pushing a bit where it's applicable she'll be surprisingly fast considering her weight.
We didn't need to refuel nor empty litter tank during one week trip of five adults, just remember to fill her with water whenever possible.

We all had excellent and relaxing holidays and that's what boating is all about :)
