Owner description: Many people believe that this brooding lake in Northern Scotland, 21 square miles in size at an average depth of 800 feet, could certainly hide a large dinosaur-like "monster," the lake's long-time and elusive resident.

Very beautiful. It has an air of mystery about the place. Well worth a visit to this iconic location.

“Loch Ness”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

We travelled Loch Ness from Fort Augustus to Lochend from just before dusk to about 4.30 pm (gets dark real quick in January in Scotland). At the beginning of Loch Ness is a forrest and looking into the forrest is just about the scariest thing ever. From then to the end the mystery just keeps building as the roadd winds around the shore. Be ready with the camera as there are lots of great shots to be taken and as it gets dark you will be sure that Nessy has stuck her head up. A must do drive.

“A Beautiful Loch”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

Loch Ness is over 20 miles long and has many vantage points. As you drive along , you will see a winding road that parallels the Loch and various points of interest to stop for photographs. The day we were there, it was clear and visibility was very good. The drive is well worth it and take your time........!

“Nice for a day out”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

Loch ness is attractive and prooves to be an enjoyable day out for everyone. While it is true that Many of the Lochs in Scotland have nothing on England's Lake District, they nevertheless make for an enjoyable day out.

“Not sure what all the fuss is about!”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Whilst the visitor centre told the story well the fact that it's inland was a a disappointment. If you want to see the Loch you have to drive on towards Inverness and look out for a little lay-by with some steps and you can then go down to a little beach at the edge of the Loch. I suppose that it's good that it's not too commercialised and I suppose we cant blame nature for making the loch so deep and inaccessible but all in all I'd spend my time somewhere else next time!
