My family & l stayed in lodge no.1 at Birchbrae for a week in July. We thought the lodge was excellent - high standard of accommmodation, spacious lounge, dining area & bedrooms, plenty of wardrobe/cupboard storage, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher & good size fridge/freezer. The information hut with tourist info, maps, very good selection of DVDs & games was a real bonus as was having access to the leisure facilities at a nearby hotel. John, Birchbrae's owner was helpful & prompt in replying to our emails. We certainly would love to stay theat Birchbrae again.

we keep coming back to these lodges because they are lovely. They have more than enough space, are well equipped, always spotlessly clean and in a good location for reaching a wide range of activities.

The owner, John is brilliant at helping out, he leaves a very helpful booklet about local activities and there is a well stocked game and DVD store. This time my better half managed to leave his walking pole behind. Finding it and posting it back to us was no problem for him, he really does make the extra effort to make sure you enjoy your stay. We will be back (as long as John trusts us not to leave anything else behind next time!)

The lodges are in a great setting, and a good spot for most outdoor activities, as Glencoe, Ben Nevis and Aonoch Mor are all just a short drive away, and there is a very good activity centre literally round the corner. Lounge area is very well equipped for relaxing - enormous sofas, a TV with Surround sound (nice) wifi and a compact kitchen with everything you would need, plus dishwasher (woohoo!). Rooms were spacious enough to walk around in and plenty of storage. Bothrooms were immaculate and the showers were fantastic - loads of unlimited piping hot water. Just what i needed after a hot day out on the mountains. We tended to eat at the Onich hotel as it does great nosh and has a garden that leads down to the Loch with lovely views in good weather. The pub round the corner does decent food too but not as good as the hotel. We also used the free access the the local leisure club to fill in a rainy day - which was an excellent additional feature. On our next trip to scotland we will definitely be coming back.

Very comfortable accommodation, plenty of room for 5 adults to spread out, good size bedrooms with comfy beds and a very well equipped kitchen. Info folder extremely useful and would recommend the trip to the beach at Kendra. Lovely walks just behind the lodges. Good location between Fort William (unfortunately still a let down being a desolate and downtrodden town centre) and Glencoe. It was good to have the option to use the Leisure Club at the hotel.

The lodges are in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Inside, the lodge was very clean, very comfortable, warm and well equipped. But, not so perfect we were afraid to touch anything, relax and enjoy ourselves! Everything was as described on the website with the bonus of thoughtfully provided folders on where to eat and what to do. There was also a cabin with plenty of DVDs (decent stuff, not all old and out of date), games and folders of menus from local restaurants. I don't know what qualifies for "Luxury" but this was by far the nicest lodge we have stayed in - no showers only giving a trickle of water here, we were certainly more than happy with everything. My teenaged sons were both very happy with the Wi Fi which they made good use of! The local pub the Corran Inn was closed down, but you are right by the Corran Ferry so the Inn at Argdour served just as well as our local. We liked it so much we went 4 times! All in all, we ate well, slept well and explored the beautiful local area by foot, car and train. I wouldn't hesitate to book again as we all enjoyed ourselves so much.

We recently spent three nights here and were completely satisfied with the accommodation and all the utensils provided. However, these are sometimes referred to as 'luxury' lodges and we do not think that they qualify for this description. They are perfectly adequate but nothing really special.
They are situated some miles outside Fort William being nearer Onich but this is an advantage as the situation is very quiet and peaceful. We would agree with the comments of others that there is a very useful folder of ideas provided by the owners although we did not at any time meet them.

We had a wonderful stay here in Early May. A beautiful setting in a stunning part of the world. The owner is excellent and everything we could have possibly required in the lodge was supplied in advance. He was very accommodating when he had a last minute adjustment to our plans. The lodge was spotless. The guide folder very useful. A great location 10/15 minutes outside Fort William, within driving distance of Oban, Loch Ness, Skye and Mallaig. The added bonus of the leisure club at the nearby hotel was very handy on our rainy day. I would agree with a previous reviewer that one area of improvement would be the sofa in the lodge, which was a little hard for my tastes.

On the whole though I would wholeheartedly recommend these lodges. We'll be back.
