We spent a couple of nights here back in July 2012. My Wife and I were blown away by how helpful and friendly the staff were and how clean, tidy and comfortable the accommodation was. The breakfasts that were provided were second to none, they were absolutely first class. I had originally planned on a foreign holiday next year, but the experience that we had is making us think about going back to Fort William, and without a doubt we will be staying at Fassfern again.

A wonderful experience overall... thank you!

We stayed at Fassfern for 5 days as a base to explore the surrounding area. Bedroom had great view of Loch Linnhe. Room was comfortable and very clean, which was important. Ten mins walk from the train station. Breakfast was lovely. Debbie, who runs the place was very friendly and accommodating. She encouraged us to request a variety of cooked breakfast in case we got bored of the usual - all was tasty and on our last morning, she showed us the kitchen to help ourselves as we had an early start before breakfast which was very kind. I would encourage you to stay. One very tiny point is that it would have been nice to have the bed sheets changed twice during our stay. But this is not a hotel so this may be slightly unfair in expectation as it was a pleasure to spend time there and we would definitely return - which we shall. Incidentally, the Mallaig Jacobite train journey is a must as is the Nevis Range cable car trip, Inverlochy Castle walk and the Fort William Museum is a treasure. Crannog Restaurant appears the only worthy restaurant in Fort William - do pre book.

Room Tip: Request Loch view room.

We stayed there for one night. We paid £5 extra for a lochview and it was worth it. Beautiful, clean room. Really nice and helpful staff, tasty breakfast. Location of this B&B is about 7min on foot to the city centre. We can only recommend it.

We stayed at the Fassfern Guesthouse for one night while touring the Highlands. Its location in Fort William is convenient as it is a few minutes' walk from the town centre and train station. We had 2 rooms facing Loch Linnhe so we had a lovely view. The B&B itself was very clean and comfortable, and very reasonably-priced. The owners were welcoming and friendly, but there were a few other guests while we were there (think it was fully booked that night) so we didn't have much chance to have a chat, which was understandable. Breakfast was standard and filling (we were provided with free flow cereals, fruit and yogurt on top of traditional Scottish breakfast), and did its job of satisfying our stomachs before we hit the road again.

Definitely recommend Fassfern to everyone who's planning a night (or more) in Fort William.

We stayed for one night, passing through Fort William on the way to Skye. The B&B is located just west of the West End of downtown, so if one could easily manage luggage, a walk from the train station would be practical. Accommodations are pleasant and clean, and the views, particularly of the loch, are stunning. The proprietor, Debbie, was welcoming and helpful. All in all, a very fair deal for the price and good accommodations. I have one suggestion for improvement: breakfast is from "8:15 to 9AM", and this seems a little restrictive. 7:30 to 9 would be more fair and more typical of what I would expect. That being said, breakfast and service was very good.

Stayed one night here whilst on a motorcycle tour of Scotland. There is good parking behind the property and well away from the road .
The room at the rear was clean and well presented with tea/ coffee etc.
The owner was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for eating out etc.
Breakfast was very good.

I would use this B&B again.

We booked a room about 2 months previously and had an excellent view over the loch. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast well presented. Ask if you require anything different to a standard full cooked breakfast. Owners very friendly and went the 'extra mile' to help with our planned walks. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a loch view
