A fantastic base from which to explore the area. The menu changed daily, giving a good variety of choice prepared to a high standard and presented well. We weren't disappointed by anything that we ate during our stay.

Our room was clean and sufficient to our needs with a good sized en-suite bath/shower with endless hot water. Use of the modern and well resourced leisure centre was an added bonus.

Thank you to the staff for making our stay so pleasant and for making us feel welcome and valued. This was our second time at the Ben Nevis hotel and will not be our last.

We stayed in this hotel with our 1 year old son and 2 dogs. Having previously stayed at it's siter hotel the Alexandra, we chose this hotel because of the better rate and the swimming pool. When we arrived the receptionist gave us our key, pointed outside and said the room was in the annexe. When I asked her to be more specific as where to go to she pointed to the door again and said: "over there". She was not very friendly and gave the impression she didn't really care. Not a good start.

We found our room and it was big, with a large comfortable bed and enough space for our cot and our dogs. The bathroom was small but clean. One big problem was the shower, the temperature varied lots and in seconds went from very cold to very hot, so I burned my shoulder! When I told the receptionist the next morning (different girl) she said someone would look at it, but she didn't really apologize.

Also, the map in the room showing the hotel layout and fire exits was basically upside down, so the escape route was wrong!

The bar meal I had was good. The soup could have been warmer and the chips was slightly overcooked. Drinks were served in cans, which not everyone likes. The bar staff was polite but could have been friendlier. Again I felt that they didn't really care that much.

The buffet breakfast was quite standard. Black pudding and potato scones were slightly burned and the mushrooms a bit rubbery but the bacon was nice. There was a good selection of juices and rolls, as well as yoghurts and fruit. The staff at breakfast was friendly and very nice to our wee boy.

The pool was nice and warm and the bubble bath an added bonus. We didn't use the gym but you can see it from the pool area and it looked great.

Overall a mixed review. I would stay here again due to its location and the pool, and the fact that children and dogs are made welcome. They do need to brush up on their customer friendliness and sort the dangerous shower situation out!

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. I was disapointed the first time as we were in an annex that was away from the hotel and was almost empty. This time however we were in the main building. The room was large and had everything we needed. Bathroom was okay although the plumbing was a little noisey.
Breakfast was buffet style and was very good. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good and the service was great. The bar and reception area were nice.
The leisure facility was very good, with gym, swiming pool, sauna and steam room.
20 minute walk from the centre of Fort William may have been the only negative but all in all a good hotel

Nearly missed it when I drove by. It has one of those old motel look about it and is just off the main road. It Is a fair walk from the main town centre though, but if you haven't figured it out, there is plenty of walking in Scotland. You walk by the cemetery where the original Fort gates are now installed.
The room was fine, but yes the decor could do with a major overhaul. I mean I like tartan, but yes well. The room was stock standard, TV, bar fridge, kettle, the bed was a little lumpy but standard.
Fort William is very very busy, this place was not my first choice, but if you do have a reservation and you have no expectations, it'll be more than fine.
I admit my room was facing the back and so I didn't get much noise and I didn't use the leisure centre, so unfortunately can't comment on that.
Oops nearly forgot breakfast. Breakfast is again standard fare, coffee, tea, cereals, toast and the staple grapefruit.

I have stayed at the hotel 3 tims in the last year and found the hotel to be accomodating and the staff friendly.

They are currently in the process of renovation so some rooms are finished to a higher standard than others. They have a fantastic family room with 2 double beds and 1 set of bunk beds so ideal for larger families.

Location is just on the outskirts of Fort William on the road to Glenfinnan and Inverness. Ideal location for the Aonach Mor gondola.

The leisure club has a great pool with steam rooma nd suana so very good for unwinding after a tough day on the mountain.

I would reccomend this as a good base for exploring the western highlands.
