Clan Macduff hotel is a good choice for a stop in Fort William. A little out of town situated opposite Loch Linnie there is easy access to the main road with plenty of onsite parking close to the reception area.
The young girl at reception was exceptionally nice and assisted with check in by escorting us directly to our room and demonstrating facilities etc. The upstairs room itself was clean and well maintained with a pleasant outlook over towards the loch. Plenty of space with sufficient amenities was all that could be asked for. The bed was comfortable and the temperature of the room could be well regulated. As with many older style hotels, the wall sound insulation was average but manageable with consideration.
Due to the notorious highlands weather during our visit we chose to have both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant for convenience. Both were very good. Fresh and tasty options at a very reasonable price. The bar/restaurant area is the central gathering point and a very pleasant and comfortable place to be on a wet evening with a nice outlook and attentive staff.
There were no obvious detractors to this hotel. We were grateful for the comfort and warmth of the room and were impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.More
