“Nice Hotel Very Friendly Receptionists and Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

This hotel is situated on out skirts of Fort William. I would probably say a 10 to 15 min drive from the town centre. It has a great location in front of the loch and hills.

Upon arriving we were greeted by very friendly receptionist (a real credit to the hotel). She took us to our room and offered to take out bags.

Our room was in the build next to the main hotel. It was very clean, a good size and came with a table, chairs, flat screen TV, kettle (with tea and coffee) and a hair drier.

The bathroom room was a little on the small side if you are a rather large person.

The following morning we were greeted by another very friendly receptionist and very polite and helpful breakfast staff.

The breakfast had a good range of choices and tasted fine.

Good points
Friendly staff
Location
Clean well kept room

Not so good points
Size of bath room
Wi-fi did not seem to work (but that might have been our laptop)

Lovely hotel. Stayed at the premier inn for two nights before and found this hotel to give us more of a feeling of staying in Scotland. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with plenty of options to choose from. The staff were always friendly and able to offer advice on questions asked. Lovely views from the front of the hotel (worth paying the extra for a front facing room) unfortunately we didn't. Only downside would be the distance from fort William as it would take a while to walk, but only a few minuets in the car. Would definitely go back.

No complaints at all for this hotel, made a last minute booking and despite some of the reviews on here had a great time. Yes its a little dated but that did not make any difference to our stay.

Myself, husband and 6 year old stayed for two nights and had a comfortable stay, great meals, hearty breakfasts and the staff were lovely too. Amazing view from the lounge/breakfast area.

Room Tip: Room 48 really great triple room plenty for the three of us!

We are a young couple and stayed at the Clan Macduff hotel in October for a 2 nights whilst we climbed Ben Nevis. The hotel was really clean, in the perfect scenic setting and great location. Although the hotel was quite dated in terms of its style, it was well kept and very homely. We would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: we didn't get one of the rooms with a view that they have on offer but the room was still great!

We stayed here during our highland tour. The hotel is located about a 5 minutes away from the city centre. The rooms are spacious and clean, though room decor is a bit outdated. Since it was an extremely cold evening we decided to dine in the restaurant. Although the food was good there was something about the restaurant that didn't convince me. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and a full English Breakfast. Although I would stay there again I would probably dine somewhere else next time.

Just returned from a 3 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had initially booked a standard room but for £6 extra we upgraded to a room at the front with a view of the loch and mountains, and what a view, great to wake up to in the morning.
We were taken to our room by a very nice girl on reception, who also told us where to find the bar and eating areas. The room was a good size and very clean. Someone came in each day to make up the bed, tidy and replace towels if required. We were beside the 'puffin place' which we thought would be a problem, because of the smell of smoke, but it wasn't. There would have to be smokers there constantly for it to be an issue.
We had no complaints about the food either. There were plenty of choices of cereals and hot cooked breakfasts and the staff were very friendly and polite.
If you decide to have your evening meal in the hotel there is a set 3 course menu for £20, but if this doesn't suit there is a great selection of other dishes to choose from. Be prepared though, they are good sized portions. If you fancy a walk into Fort William it will take about 45 mins. There is also a bus stop about 50 yards from the hotel. If you know you are going to be late getting back make sure you have a torch, as there are no street lights on the main road.
All the staff were very friendly and would take time out to have a chat. The bar and tv room had the cosy feel of a country house. We could not find fault with anything. Overall we had a great stay and would certainly go back and have already recommended it to family and friends.

Room Tip: get a room at the front if you can the view is breathtaking
