Great place to stay, rooms are very clean and extremely cosy and comfortable. Well decorated, TV, free Wifi in rooms, nice bathroom. Bar and restaurant area is very relaxing and comfortable, great staff. Delicious meals available, there is a great range of cooked breakfasts as well. Brilliant hotel!

This hotel ticked pretty much every box, and at £45 for the night was great value for money.

The core requirements I need for an overnight stay are a quality bed, powerful and hot shower and great breakfast - big ticks against all of these!

The room was spotlessly clean (as was the rest of the hotel) and had all the mod-cons you'd expect.

Excellent location right across the road from the Loch with a good sized private car park (although it is on a decent slope which I can imagine being a bit of a challenge in winter).
The welcome was really warm and friendly, an attitude found in all the staff whether they were at the bar, serving breakfast or waiting-on at dinner.

Had the venison sausages and mash for dinner, and would recommend eating at the hotel - service was quick despite the restaurant being busy, and the food was excellent (<£15 for 2 courses and a glass of wine).

Only thing that I could find fault with was the piping of Scottish folk music through the bar sound system in the evening - I know, grumpy or what?1

I booked this hotel online as my 4 year old grandson wanted to ride on the Jacobite steam train. We made the right choice. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, the food was excellent - they even arranged his toy trains when cleaning our room! He was delighted. Thoroughly recommended

Room Tip: It's worth paying a little extra to get a room with a view of the loch.

Booked just a couple of days before travel and secured a single room for £45 B&B and a family at £60 again B&B. As previous posters have said, the decor is dated but the hotel is spotless. Didn't see the single room which was next to reception but the family room was spacious with double bed and a single. Full bathroom with plenty of towels. TV etc all in good working order.

Dinner was good. Plenty of choice and served by good staff. If I were to make one comment about the bar and dining room is that you cannot get a meal before 6 pm which could cause issues for parents with young children. Similarly, when we arrived after a fairly long drive the bar wasn't open! Ok, that may be just us but a glass of wine would have been lovely after we unpacked. The bar has such a breathtaking view that a drink and some nibbles would have gone down a treat at 4 pm. Bar doesn't open until 6 which is the sametime as the dining room. You can eat in both the bar and dining room.

Breakfast was good also. Plenty of choice with lots of toast, tea and coffee too. We sat down at 8 am just as breakfast was being served with the sun coming up and bathing the scenery in sunlight as we ate. This hotel does have a stunning setting.

All in a good place to stay for a couple of nights. Couple of little things mentioned above but as I have said a drink at the bar late afternoon might just be us and dinner with kids well, I could have easily asked that before I left but it may help other families with their bookings.

Room Tip: Away from the puffin station where the smokers go.

A family run hotel with three generations of the family present on site to ensure a warm Highland welcome. Caring and thoughtful staff ensure all needs are catered for in a quiet and relaxed manner. Eat in the restaurant or in the bar. Simple and well prepared food served by attentive staff. Generous breakfasts served by efficient staff. No sad buffet breakfast here. well stocked bar a delight for whisky lovers.

Varied clientèle of all ages make it apparent this is a gem of a hotel.

Good views out over Loch Linnhe. Went to sleep with stags roaring in the glen across the loch. Comfortable and spacious public areas.

I have stayed here on several occasions and recommended it to family and friends. Never disappointed. Will use it every time I visit the area.

Room Tip: Family rooms are generous in size. Ours had a double bed, single bed, fold out sofa, writing tab...

I had just returned from the Jacobite Express to Ballaig.

Peaceful and enjoyable although I was given a single room behind the reception and adjacent the front door so when I came out of the bathroom i had to ensure I did not scare the incoming or outgoing guests. Some practical joker left a note on the bathroom wall that to have a hot shower you had to turn the shower knob to cold which I did. Guess what: I had a cold shower!!! So I turned the knob all the way to cold and I continued to have a cold shower. How did those canny Scots figure out that to have short showers in Fort William each guest wuold read the sign and have a cold shower! and I paid for it too!!!

Apart from the shower, room size (very small) and location (near the front door) the guest lounge / dining area was outstanding but I think the stunning view over the Loch made it great!! Breakfast was fit for a king and in tune with scottish hospitality: very filling.

Room Tip: Perhaps chose another room not the single I had near the car park entry

This is a nice, friendly hotel. The decor is a bit eighties, but there are worse things. It's clean, and for our one night was perfect adequate. The dining room has splendid loch views, as does the bar and the front rooms. The £20 pp 3-course dinner was good home style fare, and the waitress was friendly. I wouldn't book it for a special occasion, but for a stopover, perfectly fine.
