We booked into this hotel with reservations have-ing read some poor reports but as it was Easter.
It was not good...It was brilliant. We had a great laugh with the owner who is a character. She made breakfast to suit our really early starts and fixed an extra bed as my wife had decided at the last minute to come as well. She was full but could not do enough. Its not five or four star but a good three star and the view was stunning in the morning looking over the Sea Loch in front.

Cant fault it and really enjoyed it !

Room Tip: Eat out at night as there are great restaurants in the town.

We booked through booking.com 2 couples travelling to Scotland for two night stay. On arrival the first impression was that the place looks OK but it was extremely dirty and neither the bar nor the restaurant was working as we've been travelling all day wanted to have dinner but had to drive to town as we were told it was a slow season and the restaurant was closed.Nowhere it was mentioned that the restaurant would not be working.. the bar was the same story... neither stocked nor it was open.
There were no toiletries in the rooms no hand soap, no shower gel either nothing in the bathrooms...
Advertised as internet in rooms which is a complete lie as there is no signal on the second floor (internet was OK in the lobby)

If allergic to pets stay away as there are two big and lovely dogs.

We had to go into town and buy our own drinks as the bar was not working. But it doesn't end here.

The owner asked us all to pay upfront as she was going away the next day we paid and that was the last we have seen of her. The following day after we came back from dinner in town and asked the person at reception (the owner's son) to start the fireplace for us. We were told he will try which to his benefit is exactly what he did tried but as they did not have any fire starters he did not succeed into it and after 15 min of trying said he will come and check on it in a bit after which we never saw the guy.
We were meant to have breakfast the last morning on check out but surprise surprise when we woke up at around 8:30 (that was the time that we asked for breakfast the day before as we were the only people staying in) there was nobody in the whole place apart from the two dogs the place was completely deserted nor there was any breakfast for us. No one to check us out either. We waited till 11:30 at which point we had to leave as we were heading further north and we have lost the most of the morning.

After I left a somewhat an average review in booking.com the owner emailed me to apologise about that situation and suggested a refund which neither of us have really asking for. So i replied explaining what has happened and told her to go with the refund as she seemed fair. After that she messaged that she is sorry again and will process a refund of £75 which she believed was fair.
She also explained why there was no one in the morning nor breakfast and apparently we have kept her son up all night so he overslept. I have not heard a worse excuse. We have been in the lounge till 01:00 but did not make much noise and the guy was gone way before midnight saying to us he has to go into town. But anyway if all of us could have gotten up at 8:30 surely the staff could have at least make an effort to do the same till 11:30 the following morning regardless of how late we have kept him up which was not the case anyway.

Fair-enough I said thanks and thought that this will be end of it. 2 weeks later I emailed to ask if she had changed her mind as there was no refund from her. She replied after two days saying that it will be coming in this week. Today she mailed me again saying that she changed her mind and she believed that the missed breakfast would have cost us not more than £25 so she would refund that instead. Absolutely phatic service and no customer service whatsoever. I told her to keep the money as obviously she needs it more :)

We are not the type that will usually complain about little things but this was extremely poor service and you all deserve to know so you don't get into the same situation. Avoid at all cost. There is plenty of other nice BB in the area so my advise is go with any other one but this as there is no way this can happen anywhere else!!!

All in all extremely poor service and a dirty place that neither of us would ever want to visit again. Save yourself from having the same bad experience that we did and just book another BB there are plenty to chose from in the area.

We booked through booking.com and looked forward to our night's stay. On arrival the first appearance is one of needing looked after.
The owner was polite and helpful but had to get help as our door wouldn't lock.
We were assuming (as advertised) that we would be able to get our evening meal in the hotel, but no, sorry they were not doing evening meals!!
There was no toilet rolls in the bathroom and the breakfast was meagre to say the least. Only 2 cereals to choose from, no choice of juice or fruit and no written menu to choose a cooked breakfast from. Very disappointing stay.

Good location, around a mile from the centre of town and overlooking the loch. I found my room at the front of the hotel a bit bright and noisy but I am a horrendous sleeper and live in a very quiet country location so I'm sure most would love it. As it is, the woman who runs the place was extremely helpful and moved me to the back of the hotel. The rooms are a bit on the small side for 2 guys sharing with all their snowboarding gear, and the hotel is a bit dated but you just can't fault the service - great breakfast too. Also loved the friendly dogs - made me miss mine even more.

We came for a last minute skiing holiday and it was fab. Alexandra was so lovely and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It really was like home from home.
The food was lovely and homemade. We were never left hungry. We choose to eat every night at the hotel. After our evening meal we all sat around the open fire in the lounge area. Where Alexandra kept the drinks following through from the bar area.
After a day skiing Alexandra dried all our ski cloths ready for the following morning.

Me and my family went to Scotland for a long weekend skiing at Ben Nevis, it was a last minute trip booked and choosing this hotel was the best decision made! It was a really cheap deal for the whole weekend with breakfast and evening meal. The food was excellent and huge portion sizes which kept the men happy!! Alexandra was brilliant bless her she didn't stop from first thing in the morning until last thing at night! We arrived late Thursday night and greeted with coffee, sandwiches and cakes. After a hard day skiing she dried all our ski jackets for us she was constantly checking if we were all ok and getting anything we needed and then cooked a variety of things for us all for tea! The rooms were lovely and warm with an extra heater for us all and the bed was huge! I could go on about all the wonderful things they did to make the stay that little but better. Herself and her son really worked hard whilst we were their and deserve huge amounts of credit!! I don't understand why people have left such bad comments. We will definitely go back! Thank you for a lovely stay.
