“OK IF YOUR ON A DIET”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

Just come back after a coach holiday and i cannot fault our room,it was spacious and clean.Meals were ok if you were on a diet but our waiter always asked if we wanted more, eggs at breakfast looked as if they had been cracked into pan and taken out straight away, not cooked at all.I probably would stay again, but something needs to be done about the food.

Room was dirty and smelled damp
Bathroom stank of mildew
Bed creaked loud enough to keep you awake
All the springs in the bed broken - woke up with bruises!
Food is terrible, DRINKS ARE EVEN WATERED DOWN- SERIOUSLY.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

first place we saw arriving into town, and since we didn't have a reservation, we pulled in. They had 2 rooms available, because it appears that they cater to tour groups. The room was clean and neat and large (the bathroom was huge!). The Hotel could use some tlc and some updating. WiFi only available in the lobby, which can be annoying, however there was a gentleman there who is an area artist of some renown, so that was a benefit. We did not eat dinner there, but went into town. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Staff appeared to be helpful and nice.
The views from the rooms are fantastic, for the most part, and some rooms have balconies, a real benefit.

We were with a coach trip and it is true the hotel is a couple of miles from Fort William but it has a lovely outlook over Loch Linnhe. We had a room at the back but it was fine and had a large bathroom with a full bath and masses of really hot water. Usual tea and coffee making facilities and the room was clean and pleasant. The food was absolutely fine, waiter serviced from a reasonable choice on a menu, really no problem with the food at all. Some of the waiters were very professional and efficient but there were a couple who seemed new and weren't well enough supervised. No WiFi except in reception and other comments are true. There is bingo and entertainment in the evening which is not great. Drink are OK and a reasonable price. We walked to the Caledonian Hotel up the road for a walk after dinner and a change of environment and entertainment. All in all it was OK but I wouldn't have picked this hotel if I wasn't on a coach trip - it was a little too far from town to be able to go out and about in the evening.

Room Tip: Nice views from the rooms at the front of the hotel, quieter and rooms with full baths seem to be at...

Clean and friendly but dated and in need of overhaul. WiFi close to reception but nowhere else. Old 14 inch TV's. Services align to excursions - for example no bar open until day trips arrive back after 5 pm. Entertainment not great - one guy with guitar or accordion. Bingo in bar at 8 30. Seats in lounge are hard. Good value in with a coach package but otherwise I would tend to go elsewhere.

lovely location with stunning views, very helpful and polite staff. we stayed in a superior double room with balcony with a stunning view over the loch, very nice but very over priced for a sub standard room which needs updated sooner rather than later, although very clean not very comfy.
most of the staff were very helpful except for one, who I will not mention.
this is a hotel catered for coach tours, not our thing but we tried to enjoy by participating with the dated bingo and old fashioned one man band. although one night no entertainment because couch tours had left so stuff the rest, that was ok because the night before we only stayed for as long as it took us to finish our over priced drink because the entertainment was rubbish, the breakfast was an excuse and should never be served, cooked hours before and left sitting on a hot plate until delivered hard and tasteless. overall I feel sorry for the holiday makers on coach tours who have no choice, eat what is served, except the entertaiment, and pay ridiculous prices for your drink. not much choice when the town is 2 miles away, or may I suggest they walk the 100 yards to the next hotel for some decent entertainment and better price for your drink with more appealing surrounds.

Room Tip: first or second floor facing the Loch for stunning views.

Eliothotel, Guest Relations Manager at Croit Anna Hotel, responded to this review, August 24, 2012
Following your telephone call to the hotel to book a room with one of the nicest views of the Loch and surrounding countryside, the reception arranged for you to have one of these rooms with a long balcony with which you were very pleased at the time. We do not consider £47 per person B & B for a superior room to be overpriced, especially in the highest part of the season. The “dated” bingo in which you participated, won you the jackpot on the first night of your stay !! We do not advertise entertainment for seven nights of the week and on the Friday night, contrary to your statement, there was still one coach in the hotel but as they were departing early on Saturday, as were you and most of the remaining guests, the majority wanted to go to bed early. When you spoke to the Manageress on the morning of your second day, you simply stated that the bacon was too hard so she said she would ensure that it was better the following morning. She also explained that the breakfast is cooked in batches prior to each sitting, so between 7.40am and 8.40am three batches are cooked – effectively every twenty minutes, so the food is not “left for hours on hot plates” as stated in your review. If you were so dissatisfied with the hotel, you could have checked in to the hotel “100 yards away” but would have had to pay more.
