We stayed here for just one night, but would certainly return. This is a modern hotel which has been beautifully refrubished. There is a good mix between traditional and modern furnishings which add to the pleasant atmosphere of the hotel.
The location means that it is a short walk into the town of Fort William and Ben Nevis is closeby for those who enjoy walking.

A really good stay.

Recommend on all fronts. Mother and daughter travelling. Would stay again without a doubt.

Service was faultless and friendly without being intrusive. Excellent.

Spotless, all hotels should learn from this one. Lovely modern furniture and clean warm decor. Bathroom lovely modern finish. Room and bed very comfortable.

We had double at side of hotel and was very peaceful. Slightly out of town which allowed the peace but still within walking distance.

All lighting and electrical goods well placed and good quality.

Location was under ten mins wander from the train station and main shopping area. 20 mins walk from distillery. Small parking area at hotel.

Dinner was paid separately which we elected to eat in main restaurant. Shared vegetarian plater for two which was all home made and well priced. Good quality fish and chips with chips. Nice atmosphere and good pacing for service of courses.

Only criticism would be that the prosecco for one small bottle was 7 pounds odd which is slightly pricey compared to some 5 star hotels. Non alcoholic drinks were as standard.

The hotel was refurbished in a contemporary style in 2010 and has maintained a modern look internally throughout. The location is on the north side of town as you head to Inverness and therefore it’s handy for Aonach Mor (aka Nevis Range skiing) which is about 6 miles away and the route to Glen Nevis starts almost next door. I found it was about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the town centre.

It’s on a busy road however the hotel has it’s own car park on site with additional parking a little further along on the opposite side of the street (this area is unsurfaced). Despite the scenic backdrop to the Fort William area I doubt if there are any splendid outlooks from the hotel bedrooms.

I stayed for a couple of nights in late March 2013 to go skiing at the Nevis Range and Glencoe. There is no drying room however a member of staff kindly stored my skis in a room near reception.

On arrival I was quickly checked in and shown to room #14 on the first floor level. It unfortunately overlooked a flat roof and fire escape at the back of the hotel so no marks for the view. The bedroom although not large was finished in a modern style and had sufficient storage space in the wardrobe for my stay - with two people and baggage for longer you may struggle. There were tea/coffee making facilities, a wall mounted flat screen television with some Freeview channels and a comfortable double bed. They also provide lots of cushions and pillows.

The ensuite was large and again nicely decorated. There was a power shower above a long bath and good water pressure. After a day on the slopes when I was having difficulty getting hot water (and beginning to wonder why they had signs up asking you to keep the bathroom door closed to avoid steam setting off the smoke detector) a call to reception sorted this out. The receptionist was very helpful - unfortunately getting soaked in the process - and I established that I should ignore the markings on the controls which appear to be reversed. It was also a reminder that if something doesn’t seem right - ask.

Dinner on my first night was in the hotel’s “Browns” restaurant. It’s a large place which has the same contemporary style as the remainder of the hotel and an integrated bar area with settees. The menu covers a number of pasta and risotto dishes, fish, meat and poultry options although vegetarians may feel a bit short-changed. Prices vary from about £6 - £10 (scallops) for starters, £10 - £18 (steak) for mains and £6/£7 for desserts.

I ordered caramelised red onion tart with goats cheese & salad for starters, salmon with lemon butter and dill with vegetables for mains, a 250ml glass of Chardonnay and a coffee which came to £25 which I thought was decent value. The starter was very tasty however the fish was nothing to get excited about. With few guests the place lacked any atmosphere, not helped by the fact that the background music was barely audible. The waiting staff were attentive and pleasant.

Breakfast served in the same restaurant was made to order, tasted very good and was served by friendly staff. It was a very quiet affair again with no music (or other guests on one morning).

Fort William tends to have more traditional style hotels and guest houses and Nevis Bank Hotel provides a modern alternative for those who prefer these comforts. The staff were all friendly and helpful in my experience and a credit to the hotel. B&B was £90 per night.

Fort william are filled with hotels and B&B, and clearly some are.... not that good. But the Bank Nevis was an oasis among others.
Really nice service, the rooms were spacious and clean - we even got a small upgrade I think - and the breakfast was nice. We can definetly recommend this to whoever travelling to Fort William. Only bad thing are that it does not lie directly in the city center but a small walk and you are there.

We were visiting Fort William for a couple of days and chose this hotel for its proximity to the station and town centre.
There was a warm welcome at reception and the room was clean and tidy. A little on the small side but adequate for our needs. We only ate in the hotel one evening and we enjoyed the food at diner and breakfast. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Our only complaint would be the motion activated lighting in the bedroom corridors. Sometimes it delayed coming on leaving you in darkness for a while, leaping up and down trying to activate the motion sensors!

If we were back in Fort William I would certainly stay here again!

My husband and I enjoyed our one night there in March 2013. The rooms are comfortable and clean with a lovely ensuite. The lounge bar and restuarant is also very stylish and modern.. Service is excellent and plenty of choice for breakfast. Would definately reccommend..

We have stayed here two or three times when hiking in the local hills. There is always a warm welcome and the rooms are clean and comfortable albeit a little on the small side.
The hotel is situated just on the edge of Fort William and the centre of town is about a 10 minute walk.
The hotel restaurant serves a wide range of modern European style dishes and so although the menu is fixed, there is certainly enough choice for a 2 or 3 day stay. The wine list covers the better known varieties and is reasonably priced. Be aware however that the hotel does sometimes run out of some of the bottles listed.
Breakfast is a well stocked cold buffet and some delicious freshly cooked options including kippers and a full ' Scottish'. Usually delivered by. Very jolly waitress with the instruction 'you enjoy your breakfast now'.
If you out and about in the hills the hotel will provide a packed lunch which saves a trip into town. This is moderately expensive and includes a choice of sandwich, a piece of fruit, chocolate bar, cake, drink and crisps/peanuts.
Overall a nice friendly base for visiting Fort William and the surrounding hills.

Room Tip: Book early to secure one of the larger rooms or ask for one of the family suites.
