I stayed here for a week every month up till June last year for a year with work. UNder new management and has undergone renovation. A lot of the earlier reviews were done under the previous regime. Great hotel, fabulous rooms, great en-suites. For the price they offer, it's impossible to find a better hotel in Lochaber

This is a very nice small hotel which offers a great breakfast choice, choice of fruit juices, fresh fruit, porridge, toast, full Scottish, scrambled egg with salmon or eggs Benedict, tea and coffee. Not a buffet, all served at your table in their lovely restaurant.. We stayed there one night so we could ski the Nevis range which is close by perhaps a couple of miles away.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. The rooms are modern, the decor lovely. Not sure what else to say! It's great.

The staff are all very friendly and they remember your name!

The location is great, easy to find but fairly quiet. The restaurant offers top notch food.

I wish all hotels were this nice

This is our third visit here which tells you how much we like this place. What can we say that we have not already?
If you want a hotel that is spotlessly clean, welcoming, restful and serves excellent food in a friendly manner at a very reasonable price, then look no further. Good varied menu so catering for all. Oh, and make sure you are hungry as the potions are very generous - the pavlova is huge and did me in. And, if you like sticky toffee pudding, like my other half who seemed to think the week long trip was a sticky toffee pudding tasting competition, then this is the place for you. Apparently, this is the best.
We highly recommend Nevis Bank Inn.

A short touring holiday in The Highlands in mid-December sounds like insanity but it turned out to be such a great choice.
I stayed at the Nevis Bank hotel in October 2011 and was impressed by the whole experience. So, without hesitation, I booked again, for this trip.
Apart from the Christmas dinners organized by local businesses and clubs (which in no way spoiled the atmosphere in the restaurant because they were so well behaved), we pretty much had the hotel to ourselves.
During the day, we drove around the area visiting beautiful, Wintery places, stopping to take photographs and enjoy the views.
At the end of day, it was lovely to come back to a warm, welcoming room with the choice of a bath or shower to warm up and then look forwards to an excellent meal in the restaurant and conversation in the lounge/bar area.
We slept well and began each day with a wholesome, Scottish breakfast before discussing where to visit that day.
Of course The Highlands and its amazing Winter landscape was the whole point of the trip, but the cherry on top was provided by that hidden gem of a hotel, The Nevis Bank and its welcoming, helpful staff.
Literally just around the corner is the road to Glen Nevis and the mountain, Ben Nevis. A mile up the road is the Ben Nevis Whisky distillery. A short drive along the A830 westward takes you to the Glenfinnan Monument, to the north the beautiful Caledonian forest in Glen Affric and to the south is Glen Coe.
If you are planning a visit to the Fort William area, then you'd be mad to miss out on this wonderful hotel or its superb restaurant.
As Arnold Schwarzenegger so often says, "I'll be back!".

Friendly welcome at reception (greeted by name) and shown to our room.

Room coudln't be faulted really: immaculately clean, good use of small space, plenty storage, good shower/bath, T.V, tea making facilities.
The temperature in room fluctuated quite dramatically; we had the radiatior on full when we arrived but the room didn't seem to heat up and on our return from dinner, we had turned the heating down but were very hot during the night. However, the window can open and the street that the room backs onto is quiet so it was fine. For those requiring a dark room, there are black-out blinds integrated into the window which is a nice touch. Only issue we had in the room, was that the hairdryer didn' t work. We had taken our own anyway so this wasn't a problem (and I'm sure it would have been dealt with, had it been).

Brown's restaurant for dinner: great service (prompt and friendly), food was of a good standard, portion sizes were sufficient overall, although one of our starters could have done with a bit less salad and a bit more of what was ordered. Some reviews stated that the restaurant was pricey for what was had, but I felt that it was reasonably priced overall.

Breakfast at Browns (incuded in price of stay): different staff on duty for breakfast service that were equally as attentive and friendly as the evening staff. Choise of toast and tea or coffee to start and then a varied menu to select from. Food was served quickly and was very tasty.

The only thing I would say about Brown's is that it lacks ambience slightly. The restaurant was not very busy when we were there (possibly due to the time of year), and I feel that some background music would have given the place more of a buzz.

I would reccommend both the Nevis Bank Inn and Brown's Restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere modern, friendly and reasonably priced to eat and stay in, in the Fort William area.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and enjoyed our stay overall.

Check in was done by a extremely nice European girl ( im stating the nationatility as sadly did not get her name ). We were shown to room 10 and also how to work the heating in the room, which was much appreciated as it was freezing cold ! The room was comfortable but fairly small and overlooked a housing estate, the bathroom was ok with a good shower / bath.

On our first evening we asked for ice and again the same person who checked us in was only too willing to get it for us.

Had a good sleep, although the only negative is that you can hear noise from other rooms ( always irritating for me personally as ima fairly light sleeper ) however, the noise level was not enough to impact our sleep but thought I'd mention it.

Housekeeping was excellent and should be commended.

Breakfast was served in the main restaurant area and we had a good choice offered us and we enjoyed what we had. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening as we were out most of the day not knowing when we'd be back, but the menu looked very enticing.

The hotel is a 10 min walk from the station and is also just a 30 min walk to the Glen Nevis visitor centre which then connects you easily to the path going up Ben Nevis. I got to the top of this mountain when I was a child and was itching to do it again but will wait until the summer.

We also got the train from Fort William to Mallaig which was stunning, like travelling through a winter fairy tale - amazing scene looking up the loch going over the Glen Finnan viaduct.

Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
