“Unremarkable but perfectly pleasant”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

Had a quick Pizza with my son. Nice pleasant people. Pizza was fine if unremarkable. Nothing to complain about. Equally nothing to make me rush back.

“Warm and friendly”
Reviewed August 1, 2012 via mobile

Have just had an excellent meal in The Stables. Service was excellent. Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Food very good indeed. Restaurant was very busy but the service was still slick and efficient. No complaints. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and the prices are very reasonable too.

To be honest I wasn't expecting great things when three of us stopped here for a meal on Sunday 29th July 2012 but we were all very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We had pizza style cheese and garlic bread which was very enjoyable and the side salad was very fresh and the dressing delicious. Two of our party had pizza for main course and reported them to be excellent, I had chicken and lemon risotto from the specials board and would happily order it again. We felt the restaurant was lacking somewhat in atmosphere but this could be very easily and cheaply addressed with some subdued lighting, blinds or some sort of window dressing to disguise the large plate glass windows, candles and background music. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the place was busy with people queing outside at one point.

“Pizza for tea”
Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

Fine for pizza and pasta if you are looking for reasonable food at reasonable prices. Service was quick, and the restaurant busy at 6pm in the evening, so quite a number of people seemed happy. Recommended by young girl in tourist office, which either says something good about this restaurant, or lack of competition!

“Give this a Miss if you like Italian food.”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

We went here on Wednesday July 25th.,as it was supposed to be an Italian Restaurant, but nothing could be further from the truth, the only thing Italian was 20% of the wine list, (which you have to pour yourself) we should have known as the normal Italian Aroma was missing. The starter of Bruschetta was more like cheese on toast with tomato paste in between, the main Pasta course was so tasteless as to be inedible. There were two front of house staff on, a man behind the bar, and a young waitress, and at no time were we asked if things were ok. when I asked if there were any Italian staff, I was told "you don't need Italian staff, to call yourself an Italian Restaurant." I would expect the chef to have a basic knowledge of Italian cooking, but this is missing. GIVE THIS PLACE A WIDE BERTH.
