“A real gem”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

My party (of 6) was taking part in the Caledonian Challenge over the weekend of 15/16 June. We had booked one night at the Burnlea. What a great place, with wonderful hosts. The breakfast was unbelievable, particularly as we had ordered it for 6:15! Steph and Linda were bright and breezy, even at that time in the morning. We felt very welcome and I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we would definitely stay at the Burnlea again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the loch have spectacular views

My friend and I used Burnlea as a base for a trip up Ben Nevis and around the local area. We were really pleased with the accommodation we had chosen - the room with the loch view was great and was equipped with all of the amenities one would expect. The bathroom was also a good size and the beds comfortable. The proprietors were really welcoming, friendly and helpful and were flexible with breakfast timings. They were also happy to offer guidance with trip planning, which helped us make the most of our short stay. Overall - highly recommended.

Our family was travelling from Canada, and spent two nights here. Communication was prompt and clear through email. Our hostesses were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Our daughter very much appreciated the books that they loaned to her during our visit. The view of Loch Linnhe and the hills beyond was stunning. The restaurant they recommended (the Ben Nevis Inn) was incredible, with great food, atmosphere and setting. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We would highly recommend this B&B.

My husband and I stayed two nights here and can honestly say we would go back.As we booked late, we had to change rooms, so stayed in the king size room first night and self-contained cottage second night. Both were very clean and comfortable. Stephanie and Linda were absolutely wonderful hosts- so friendly and welcoming and made you feel very at home. Breakfasts were superb. Thank you ladies for a lovely stay.

my friend and i stayed here the night after climbing Ben Nevis. It is very simple to find and you will most likely pass it as you enter Fort William via the A82. The views from the rooms are stunning. the rooms are clean and tidy. The 2 women who run the small b&b are very friendly and eager to help you in any way possible. The breakfast is amazing, you can start with cereal and then finish with a full cooked breakfast. when i kindly declined the cooked meal i was offered a roll and ham to take with me on the journey home.
By far the kindest people to own a b&b in the area.
I will definitely be staying there again.

If someone asked me what made our stay at Burnlea B&B memorable, I would have 2 very clear things to share! Firstly, "Stephanie & Linda" - friendly as ever, warm, welcoming and extremely helpful, the 2 make for perfect hosts! Stephanie went out of her way to drop us to the town center for dinner, suggested some beautiful scenic routes through Mallaig into Isle of Skye (special thanks for telling us about the White Sand Coral Beaches Detour- Absolutely worth it!!!!) and helped us out with the rest of our itinerary suggesting alternative routes and planing our drive through Scotland. The second thing that stuck - and I might sound like a "greedy foodie" here - was the breakfast! The piping hot, delicious full-cooked Scottish breakfast was the highlight of our stay at Burnlea.

The rooms were comfortable as ever and the house itself overlooks the beautiful Lock Linnhe with majestic mountains in the backdrop, providing for a stunning view from the house!

in the end, we wished we had an extra day at Fort William and at Burnlea B&B that made us feel so much at home!
