“A fine pub of the old style”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

Not to everyone's taste, but my kind of place. Bare boards, and no pretension. Excellent beers, and a great variety. Service acceptable even given how busy it was on a Saturday night. Don't feel you have to dress up at all. The Food looked good as well, but we were eating elsewhere, so didn't partake.

“Saturday afternoon and early evening visit.”

Worth a visit for the large and fantastic variety of ales and lagers on sale. Staff knowledgable and friendly and they allow dogs. A pub can never truly be a pub if it forbids our four legged friends.

“Perfect post walk eats and drinks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

A more traditional style pub, with a selection of real ales. We ate in the downstairs bar, with a very quirky non-traditional menu. Very busy with walkers and locals, a good mix.

This place was great and a bit of a change to the usual pub grub. Fresh veg and sometex mex made it better
