“Excellent Haggis and Beer!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

Looking for our first taste of authentic haggis, was pointed towards this local pub in Fort William. We made the right choice to eat in the upstairs restaurant where the menu was wider.
Had haggis for the first time ... and managed to finish the plate! Also had the venison burger which was very good. Family member had the sirloin burger.
Only complaint: for a place that promotes its selection of cask beers, not all of the ones on the menu were available. Still, there were enough to sample and fill you up!
Service was casual and very friendly. Good place for families.

“Great staff and Dog Friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

Came here for lunch because other bars wouldn't accept the dog. The staff on were great - friendly, chatty and helpful. They suggested drinks, allowed us to sample and got a water bowl for the dog without asking. They have a great range of beers, ales and ciders - even tried the seaweed beer! We had lunch there and the food was good. More pub/bar style than restaurant but good value, good quality and good quantity. Service was a bit slow on the food but we were a largish group and the place was busy.

I will definitely go back when in Fort William again and i think the awards they have won (I noticed some on the wall) are well deserved.

Like it!

“Brilliant beer and sausage!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

A wide range of local beers and delicious sausage here. The service was ok and the loos are upstairs...not great after a day climbing! Decent value for money.

“Great Grub & Atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

You know a pub in tourist area is good when the locals also go there. Had the venison burger with curly fries. Delicious. Although burger is much bigger and denser than American burgers. Lots of beers to choose from but I prefer cider. Smoked salmon (lox) is also good

“Poor food - good service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Yes I know it's a pub with food but the food needs to be better. Them tagliatelle which I couldn't eat (they changed it without question) was nearly 4mm thick and the sauce bland. The replacment steak pie was pretty average. Try somewhere else.
