“Well worth the walk”

Due to bad weather I walked up the Glen to see the falls as an alternative to climbing Ben Nevis.
The cars on the road were a bit of a pain but the views, especially the gorge and the falls, were great.

This really is a very easy walk. Just take care if you are a bit wobbly or haven't much strength as a small amount of balance at some points on the walk are needed, but generally a very easy walk. It's also a very short walk compared to most, it takes just under an hour to reach the waterfall....and WOW, is it worth it. Absolutely stunning. And you can walk further on as there is a very clear path.
This walk is lovely if you want an easy day and, if it's clear, sunny and dry, take along a nice picnic and a book and set yourself up for a good few hours there in the open, it's simply beautiful.
Unfortunately, for us, it was quite a wet and windy day, but it just adds to the dramatic element of the place.....made even more dramatic by seeing a rain cloud literally turn the corner in to the valley we were standing in and being able to do nothing but wait for it to greet us with (extremely sharp and painful) hail!
We love it though! :)

My son and I hiked the trail to Steall Waterfall and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Scotland. Absolutely beautiful falls, but the hike to get there is equally beautiful.

The trail is well-maintained, but good footwear is a must. Flip flops won't cut it. :)

The cable bridge is really fun to try as well. Definitely added to the experience.

All in all, a fantastic 1/2 day outing!

A lovely 2hr romp, beautiful scenery, not too exhausting and a rope bridge across the river should provide ample entertainment for those brave enough to cross and spectators :o)

A lovely starter hike - although good sturdy boots are a recommendation as some of the rocks are sharp
Some patches where care is required particularly when the weather has been wet.
The view of the falls is well worth the walk and the river in the gorge below is impressive with lots of different rocks and trees to look at.
