I’ve given full stars to everything in this place...from outside the place looks like an average bar but the service and the food elevates it to a really first class restaurant. Firstly the service and staff was friendly and efficient and the place itself was welcoming and relaxed (we ate in the bar area as the restaurant part was full - a good sign). We were given a complimentary dish of olive oil and balsamic with bread to enjoy whilst we were looking at the menu. The menu is excellent and reassuringly not overcrowded! Plus there was also a small specials menu...from which we ordered a lovely and generous Cullen Skink for starers...I’m glad I didn’t order one myself as there was more than enough to share! Then my wife had the scallops which were obviously fresh and cooked to perfection whilst I went for the pork loin steak with haggis and black pudding...again it was perfect! We didn’t order any desserts as we were too full with what we already had. I have never written a review on here before but felt compelled to do some this time as it seems so rare to have a really good meal these days and also at a reasonable price. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone - in fact I did to a couple who were looking at the menu outside when I left! Give it a try....you won’t be disappointed if you get the same chef we did!
