“Excellent welcoming B&B”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

We stayed here for a 4 night break. John & Susan were very welcoming hosts and very knowledgeable about the local area, restaurants tours etc. The B&B was very clean and comfortable with nice touches like a fridge on the landing with complimentary bottled water and fresh milk and also fresh flowers in the room. It is ideally placed only around a 10 minute walk into the centre of Inverness. Nothing was too much trouble and would not hesitate to return.

John and Susan are wonderful, knowledgable hosts. They are kind, and the breakfasts are wonderful and set you for the day. The location is perfect; the atmosphere is welcoming; and you will love it at Inverglen.

Hi Kristi

Thanks for taking the time to write a review for us - hope you're having a great time in Skye? We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and exploring the Inverness area. Leakey's is one of our favourite places, and we often try to stop at the cafe in the Victorian Market for a scone, as Susan thinks they are the best in town!!!

Hope you have a great time in Iceland - it's still on our list of places to visit, so we're a little jealous!

Kind regards, Susan & John

Susan and John made our stay really special. Susan is a great baker and offered a treat for breakfast each day in addition to the normal fare. The room was of a very high standard, and the special touches, like chilled water and fresh milk for guests, showed the attention to detail that is the norm for Inverglen. This a real find and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Hi Jennie and Clifford

Thanks for you kind review, and we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and all the baked treats - hope all the walking burned off some of those extra calories!!

It was lovely to see you (briefly) on your way back from Skye, and we hope you had a lovely time in Aviemore. Did you manage to go into your grandma's cottage to see if it had changed?

Look forward to seeing you again next time you come up to the Highlands!

I lost connection to my phone map before reaching the destination but made it to this wonderful B&B just the same. Close to Old Town and major highways but in a quiet residential area. Susan's home made goodies were delicious! Arrived hoping my lost luggage had been delivered, which it hadn't. Found out it is also close to Tesco. ;) The accommodations, food and hospitality were excellent. They even allowed me to use their home phone to call and check on my luggage. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review for us.

We were pleased to help you find somewhere to buy a change of clothes on your first evening, and to finally get you reunited with your suitcase! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Scotland on your holidays, and it was great to meet you both.

d Susan were very friendly and helpful during our four day stay in Inverness. Within easy walk of the centre of town, restaurant, the river and the station but still quiet. The breakfasts were delicious, particularly the cheesy scrambled eggs! The rooms are clean, a comfortable bed with lots of useful additions and a good strong shower.

Hi Moira

Thanks so much for writing a review for us, and we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us!

Our cheesy scrambled eggs do seem to be a popular choice, so we're glad you tried them, although John says that the chickens deserve the credit for the quality of the eggs, rather that the way that Susan cooks them!!!

Hope to see you again!

Kind regards, Susan & John

This is one of the best Guest houses I have stayed at. The owners are friendly and give really good local advice. The full english breakfast is good but there other options which are fantastic like the scambled eggs & smoked salmon. Rooms are clean and have powerful showers & home made shortbread :-). The location is good too, 10 minute walk to the centre of town & very central for all the great local golf courses. Will be using this guest house again.

Hope the shortbread made it home with you, and wasn't just a snack for the plane!!
