We had a night out at the new Little Italy venture. Lovely quirky decor greets you however despite booking it was clear we weren't expected and a table hadn't been set up for as many in our party (not a large party but needed to push tables together, really should have been done before we arrived)
Nice and plentiful menu. Ordered some prosecco which was lovely but the bottle didn't fit in the wine cooler so the waiter kept it at the bar which meant we had to keep asking for our glasses to be topped up. Even when I asked to leave it on the table it vanish back to the bar.
Food is split into meat, fish and vegetarian options and it all sounded good. However it was just ok. For some reason there seemed to be cheese with everything which became quite over powering. One chicken dish didn't seem quite cooked and the prawns looked a bit under done too. However most things were nice but nothing amazing. Not what I'd expect from Italian cooking. Desserts were offered and I ordered the tiramisu joking with my friends that you can always measure an Italian restaurant by their tiramisu. When the waitress presented it to me she must have heard my comment because I was informed the chef apologised that this was not a home made tiramisu but they would have one in January. Ok. But I might not be back. And if the tiramisu wasn't made on site what else was bought in?
Overall it was a fine night and food was ok but think the other Little Italy restaurant next door is your better experience. Lovely prosecco though. Great place if you just wanted a girlie drink.
