“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

This is my second place to the Premier Inn (River Ness). I have been a regular patron of PI's across the country and have been satisfied with them all but in my opinion this is the best. I totally disagree with a previous reviewer that the staff were pushy. I found them quite the opposite - very helpful and also very friendly. There are only some of the rooms at the front that overlook the river but lets be honest here, we're not staying here for the view! The rooms were of a high standard - it was a bit chilly when we were there and the heating worked fine. We took the meal deal and the food was delicious and good choice and good value. We are planning to return early next year for another short break.

Perfect location and with good facilities and close to everything you need. There are lots of good places to eat, all within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is good for relaxing after a long day travelling!

This is a smart looking and modern Premier Inn and in many ways lives up to expectations.

Location is good - by river and not far to town for shopping and bars etc. There is a Tescos just behind, and a footbridge across river nearby.

These fancy new automated check ins are quick and simple to use - unfortunately just as you're legging it to the lifts you'll be grabbed by a staff member who tries to hard sell the dinner and breakfast - happy to say no - but notice only when you get to the lift is there the sign indicating when the busy times are - most of the monring - not mentioned in the hard sell! I suggest that better never to book breakfast and take a look when you go down - if busy McDonalds and Wetherspoons are no distance away and half the price - albeit not all you can eat (though if queuing for food the attraction of this is gone).

Room was 4th floor on the side of the building and clean and typical PI. Lower floor would be looking at a wall - so happy to get a bit of a view - the rooms at the front look great - it's a shame that you cannot book these online when booking or select at check in.

Only other niggles are that shower pressure is weak - as with many of the newer PIs with the restrictor type shower heads - pressure to bath grand. Air Con heating part did not work - but fortunately there just prior to cold snap so fine, TV remote dead - but too late to complain. Great night's sleep - top notch bed and nice and quiet - unless the few bevvies in town helped in the evening...

All in all a good premier inn - would have been 5* without the pushy staff and weak shower.

Room Tip: Front rooms will give great view, otherwise top floor a fair compromise.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for your constructive feedback.

I was hoping to get more information regarding your stay to look into some of the issues you raised including the water pressure and the 'pushy' team member that you encountered. I have not received feedback regarding these issues before so any information would be useful for me to investigate. If you could contact me on 01463 246 490 or william.veidemanis@whitbread.com I would greatly appreciate it.

Otherwise, thank you once again for taking the time to leave a review.

This premier inn is new and so everything was immaculate and in good order. It didn't have the budget feel to it that other hotels like this do and we were impressed with the standard and quality of the room and the breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too. We will definitely go back and use the hotel again. The only shame is the lack of car park. It's a 10min or so walk from the bus/train station which might be a bother with lots of bags or in poor weather. Alternatively the parking is 50p for 1hour or £1 for 2 hours between 8am- 6pm. There always seemed to be spaces nearby.

Got a cheapy weekend away at £19 per night rooms promo. Can honestly say that the location, the friendly staff and the immaculate room with a fantastic view of the river and hills matched many of the four and five star hotel rooms we have stayed in. Great shower, quiet at night and complementary tea and coffee. Couldn't ask for more.
Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the hot water went off at 2200 till the next morning due to a fault, so no bath or shower available. Not their fault, but narrowly missed out on the full rating.

I am sorry for the problem you had with the hot water during your stay and after an investigation it was down to a faulty mixer tap in your bathroom. I am glad to say it has been fixed but once again I apologise for the inconvenience.

I'd never stayed at a Premier Inn before so wasn't really sure what to expect when I booked. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful but even then I had no idea just how good it would be. My room was big, well looked after and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The location is fantastic, just two minutes from the High Street but far enough away to be quiet. It was so cheap! I have stayed in hotels that weren't as nice but cost three times as much. I will definitely be back, can't recommend it enough.

I returned to this hotel because of its location value for money good food and friendly staff. Everything was just as good this time if not better. The beds are so comfy and the rooms were so clean. We opted for the full breakfast which was really good. There is a great selection of food and drink in the restaurant. Highly recommend.
