just stayed a night at the palace hotel inverness. Room 035. The bed was so comfortable and had a magic view over the river onto the castle and the light up bridge at night. Staff were so friendly, especially the fitness suite staff. A bit overrun at breakfast but we weren't in a rush. We only stayed the night but could have easily made it more. Chuffed at a great wee stay and will definitely be back.

I booked this hotel for its location for a overnight stay in Inverness. The hotel staff were very welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. Our room was river facing and the view of the castle at night was fantastic. The room was very well appointed with two very comfortable Queen size beds, tea, coffee and water were all available in the room, the short bread went down well with a cuppa. We never heard any noises from pipes etc that a few guests have mentioned, in fact our room was very quiet. The only issue I had was that the room was quite warm, I enjoy a cold room for sleeping, and the quilt was probably a 12 Tog so I was over warm all night and did not sleep well, the in room information states that because this is a Victorian building there is no air conditioning. The wife on the other hand had a brilliant nights sleep, and commented on this in the morning. The breakfast buffet was very nice and had every thing you would expect, the sausages were particularly nice.
I would stay here again, it is an ideal location however if like myself you like a cool room for sleeping turn the radiator off before going out for the night.

Room Tip: The River View rooms at the front are worth paying extra for.

My fiancé and I have just came back from Inverness ,we stayed in the palace and I must say I wasn't impressed with our room!!! We booked a double room and got a twin room, the room wasn't anything like the photos on the internet,we could here the neighbours on both sides talking ,and the upstairs floor boards were very noisy , our room door kept banging every time someone went out the hall door !!!! But the staff especially the night porters they were fantastic !!!the location was good a stone thro away from the town and the spa was amazing !!!!

Room Tip: Pick a river view room ,everyone we spoke that had a river view said it was amazing!!!

This hotel was pretty good, but it is a Victorian building with accompanying features, e.g. large single glazed windows, at least to the front. A large reception area awaits, with a very small lift (2 persons with limited luggage max).

Staff were very welcoming and obliging in every detail. Valet parking available: abandon car in car park, leave keys with spa staff and someone will park it at the cathedral car park, a two minute walk away. Hotel car park a bit hectic at peak times as locals use it for spa access too, but it all sorts itself out in the end.

We booked in advance on the non-refundable rate and were expecting a small room round the back overlooking the car park or a side street close to the kitchen extractor fan. So we were delighted with the large twin double bedded room with probably THE view to be had from any hotel in the city centre. Looking directly at the castle across the river, wonderful at night with the floodlights, the bridge changing colours and the twinkly fairy lights in the trees outside with the river rushing by.

Disappointing perhaps not to have a bath, but a super shower instead. A "not-so-good-smell" in the bathroom was dealt with by the supply of an air freshener, but the loo flush was a bit hopeless. I always find the pillows in Best Westerns to be a but hard, so I take my own. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet at night too, considering the location is right on the bridge and there is no double glazing. Internet is FREE :) but a bit hit-and-miss if you need to be on it for longer than a half hour.

Breakfast better quality than a Premier Inn. Didn't try the restaurant, but had free room service. Spa - a bit of a queue at opening time (7am), pool adequate enough to get a good swim, sauna small but had it to myself anyway. Godd changing facilities, towels at spa reception for hotel guests.

All in all a surprisingly pleasant stay.

Room Tip: second floor, room 26

Loved the stay in the hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Great central location. Lovely 2nd floor room over looking river and castle. Spa was very relaxing and not to busy. This would be an ideal location for a central golfing trip. Nice lounge to relax in. Starbucks coffee in lounge bar area. Food in restaraunt was excelent.

Room Tip: Rooms looking over river are great.
