Our usual hotels in Inverness were over-booked, however one suggested Invernevis B&B, the receptionist contacted the proprietor on our behalf and managed to secure a room for the three nights required.
On arrival, we were made very welcome by Shella, Proprietor who let us view the room reserved as after 4 & 5 star hotels we were a little apprehensive, these feelings were immediately put aside when we found that the quality in every respect compared more than favourably with our hotels.
Shella recommended a restaurant for our evening meal and arranged a table, there we were again made very welcome as a result of the introduction. Meal was out of this world.

After a most comfortable night and use of the top-class En-Suite facilities, we had our first breakfast, an experience to behold-all locally sourced produce perfectly prepared. The rest of our stay certainly changed our views on B&B accommodation. The Star rating given is totally justified. We will certainly return.

Room Tip: We had room 2, but all the double rooms have en-suite facilities, modern TV's, tea, coffee & biscuits, superb beds and a high standard of furnishing. On-site car parking-a great free extra.

If you are carrying your own luggage like we did it's a bit far from the center and the bus/train station. Otherwise the place is a nice Victorian house, the room was small, but stylish. Breakfasts OK, hot breakfast available.

We stayed two nights in this B&B and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The home is well-located on a residential street that is an easy walk to the river, the Greig Street pedestrian bridge, and all the shops and restaurants on both sides. The exterior is very pretty and well-kept, and the interior is tasteful and squeaky clean, and has lovely art on the walls.
Our double room was large and comfortable, with a nice view through a large bay window facing the street. There was some noise from the street on one evening, but that died down after dark.
Some of the extra-special amenities included big, fluffy bathrobes and chocolates, and a spacious bathroom with heated towel bar. The bedrooms are all upstairs.
The breakfast room downstairs is just as nice, with a pretty fireplace (which she had going on one cool morning, such a nice homey touch), a very cool rattan (or is it wicker?) motorcycle (ask Shella about her motorcycle days!), and a big bay window. My advice is to get down there early and grab one of the window tables, very good spots on a sunny morning.
Shella's breakfasts were great, with a choice of a full Scottish breakfast (sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, and, if you are willing, Stornaway black pudding and haggis, toast, etc., enough to keep you going for the day), or you could opt for lighter choices such as cereals, fresh fruit, croissants or other bread, fruit juices, nice selection of jams and honeys, and of course tea and coffee.
Several breakfast tables are scattered around the room, rather than seating everyone at one big table as B&Bs sometimes do, but close enough to exchange a bit of conversation with other travelers. Shella had good music playing also, all in all, a very pleasant place and meal to start the day.
She also can give you good suggestions for restaurants or activities in Inverness. Several good restaurants are within easy walking distance from this B&B (Mustard Seed, Riverhouse Cafe, the Waterfront).
If you want a nice walk nearby, there is a canal with wonderful, bucolic walkways bordering it, just right up the road from the B&B. From the B&B, walk in the direction away from town and go a few blocks. You will see the pass-through gates and the canal. If you walk far enough, you will reach the offices and departure point for the Jacobite company boat trips on Loch Ness (not a bad way to spend an afternoon).
Shella was an excellent host, and I would try to book with her again anytime.

Shella was immensely helpful in allowing me to leave my bags early in the day so I could enjoy the city prior to check-in. My room was spotless and everything worked as promised - no unpleasant surprises. The B&B is easy walking distance to the footbridge leading downtown yet away from the noise and bustle of the city and in an authentic Scottish neighborhood. It is near the Caledonian Canal offering a fine walk along the tow path to the locks.

My husband and I enjoyed a stay at Invernevis. Shella was a great host, one of the nicest people I've ever met. I'll never forget her kindness. She was very friendly, helpful, warm, and welcoming. We stayed here on my birthday, Shella booked the restaurant by river Ness and gave us a free drink ticket. We had a wonderful dinner. The location was good. Short walk (10 minutes?) to city centre. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Scottish breakfast was delicious. Best black pudding ever! My husband had vegetarian sausages and he loved them. Perfect B&B :)
