Description: Built in the mid 1700’s, The Castle Tavern has kept its traditional feel and charm from centuries past. Not only does it overlook the River Ness, the Tavern sits across from the Inverness Castle and the start/finish of the Great Glen Way trail. You can no doubt enjoy some of the best views Inverness has to offer. The venue boasts a bar, first floor restaurant and a beer garden. A Real Ale bar and restaurant serving freshly prepared food made from the best locally sourced ingredients (daily specials available).

We never ate here as such but we did partake of the free hot snacks which were made available by the bar staff which I have to say were first rate ! This is a small pub which gets very busy , there is a great choice of beer and the location and the views are outstanding .

We had a family meal here and all enjoyed it very much. The real ales are excellent too. Service was friendly although a bit slow. The price was reasonable and I would recommend this pub without hesitation. Get there early because it is quite small.
