Very well selected menu, which was a great change to the Burgers and Fish & Chips we had during the rest of our vacation. Really good food for reasonable prices. We really like the idea/ concept of the restaurant.

Me and my husband were on our honeymoon and staying at the opposite end of Loch Ness. We wanted to go somewhere special for our Anniversary (which also falls on my husbands birthday). Having found our planned destination in Dores to be fully booked we decided it made more sense to drive on to Inverness than to go back. We spent a while looking around Inverness for somewhere special and found everything fully booked so the night was looking like a write off.
We found The Joy of Taste, which didn't look like much but the 3 course meal was fairly cheap and by this point we just wanted somewhere that actually had a table free!
Could not have been more happy with the restaurant. They moved us to a much nicer table before the drinks had even arrived, which was really lovely. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere cosy and busy. The food was amazing! Cant believe how cheap it was for a 3 course meal of amazing quality. We normally only ever get one course when eating out but we really couldn't resist. Portion sizes were perfect and the chocolate espresso-caremel moose was the best dessert in the world. Staff were incredibly busy but this did not effect our night other than when waiting for the bill (and we only wanted that so they could let other people have our table as people kept getting turned away). Amazing place to go - wish we could have come a second night to try something else on the menu.

My girlfriend and I spent sometime looking around the menus of other restaurants in the area and found them all strikingly similar and equally dull (steak pie, burgers, fish and chips, veggie lasagne). Then by chance stumbled upon The Joy of Taste and it immediately piqued my curiosity by far a more diverse and interesting menu than its neighbours.

Both the food and wine menus are small but broad ranging and what they lack in depth they more than make up for in quality. Every dish was cooked perfectly and the staff were excellent.

I will be eating here any time I'm in Inverness.

We visited for Lunch. The food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside was the service was a bit slow. It was not overly busy and we noticed that the staff were not clearing the tables promptly. We would have ordered a sweet course and coffee but were not offered any. A bit of a shame. The positive aspect which is the most important was the food.
