Great Location. Close enough to Railway station to walk (20 mins) Stayed just one night during our tour of Scotland, but we will come back and stay again. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Room overlooking the river, Clean, large and traditional. A lot of thought and hard work has gone into setting up and running the B&B. Breakfast was excellent. Set in a lovely dining room.
Nice places to eat nearby, go walking, Loch Ness just a boat trip away.

Inverness was our second stop driving Scotland. We spent three nights at the Alexander and mainly because of the TripAdvisor reviews (rarely wrong). We booked a river view room (deluxe double) which turned out to be great (#8) at 80 BP/night. Some of the things I liked best is the huge towels and view and the frig; but the location is excellent, not only for walking but also for day trips. The breakfasts were delicious and Graham and his wife were perfect hosts. I do suggest not using the parking in the rear to check in as there is no rear entrance to bring in luggage, but use street parking. You can use the rear parking later. Also, don't miss going to Hootananny! Larry & Kelly

Just back from a trip to Inverness and The Alexander and already I can't wait to go back!! The outlook over the river Ness is amazing. The rooms are very clean with attention to detail (boys don't tend to use cotton buds but good to know they are there!!). The breakfast is not to be missed. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are unrivaled and a bacon sandwich with good coffee is superb!! Even the toast is made with good quality bread cut into thick slices. The owners are very welcoming and even have umbrellas to loan for a rainy day.

I have now stayed at the Alexander twice and have booked to stay again next month. It's the breakfasts that draw me back every time (the poached eggs are the best I've ever had), but this place is excellent value, beautifully kept and professionally run.

Highly recommended!

Travelling round Scotland you tend to be a bit more critical about things like standards, customer care, conditions etc especially in your own country. We found the Alexander through a friend and for accommodation in Inverness . . . I won’t be looking any further. However, for those of you that are not interested in me gushing ???!!! It’s a very nice house with lovely owners Graham & Fiona, it has parking round the back of the house, and it looks over the river Ness, the lounge is relaxed and comfortable, it is nice and quiet, it is literally a minute from a couple of great restaurants & bars . . . . erm . . . . what more do I need to say ???

Give it a bash if you are anywhere near Inverness.
