Stayed for just one night on business, no complaints, good value, good service and good food. I stayed in the new part in the spa building and the room was superb. Can't speak for the main building but would definitely stay again in the spa. A short walk gets you to the main building and bar/restaurant but you have breakfast in the spa building and it was very good. Why not 5 stars? Had to pay for wifi that's why, very rare these days and it should be free! Would not hesitate in recommending the hotel though. The view from my room of the gold course was also very nice.

Stayed here recently in a king’s club retreat room for 2 nights, unfortunately this hotel didn’t quite live up to our expectations. On arrival, we spent 10 minutes trying to find a parking space, due to the car park being full with conference attendees cars (I agree with another review this needs to be addressed, as there is not enough parking for hotel and conference guests, on the day we were leaving, show BMW cars were being delivered for an event and part of the car park had been blocked off and allocated to them).
The room its self you couldn’t fault, apart from the so called view of the golf course, Room 704 only offered a side view, the majority of the view consisted of a very busy, loud main road, and to be honest I would not wish to sit out on the balcony because of that.
Wasn’t impressed with general housekeeping, on arrival we had to request a toilet roll, because it had not been replenished earlier, the second night we had to request soap and shower gel, because again this had not been replenished during the day, however what really annoyed us, was that on our return from breakfast, we found housekeeping staff in our room half way through cleaning it! I found this personally very rude and was very uncomfortable with this. I have never experienced this before in a hotel.
Breakfast- at the Kings club, you sit in what is the main entrance foyer of the hotel, which is a large open space, where the reception desk is situated. This space is an open plan space viewed by all who pass this space in/out of the hotel, with the added effect of the coolness from the revolving door. The service was adequate however the quality of breakfast was poor, both ingredient and cooking.
We also had an issue when eating in the Ingles restaurant, where the risotto with the sea bass had unpeeled small prawns in it!
Overall we were disappointed with our stay here, I had expected better especially as there were cheaper options around i.e. Premier Inn’s bedrooms and breakfast would rival this.

Stayed here for the Snowman Rally in February. Everything about the hotel is first rate. We ate here both nights we stayed and the food and wine was excellent. The room we had, in the newly opened extension, could not be faulted. The staff were excellent and we received first rate service no matter the time of day or night. Hope to be back very soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new wing

I stayed at this lovely hotel as a treat the nights either side of running the Inverness Half Marathon. What a welcome! The hotel is advertised as being dog friendly but they truly are - on arrival I had a tray of 'Good Luck' chocolates and the dogs got a bowl of dog biscuits. Plus we were given a room with patio doors right on to the garden area. It was perfect. The pool and leisure facilities were very welcome and despite a corporate event on the first night the hotel was calm and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful and when I was injured after the run the bar man brought me a huge bucket of ice! All in all a great 2 nights and I would recommend this hotel to anyone with or without dogs!

Room Tip: If you have dogs with you then definitely ask for a garden room!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as wedding guests. The hotel is in a good location - peaceful but close enough to walk into town if you're fit and able.

Lovely reception area and a warm welcome was received.

The bar and dining areas are very nice indeed - bright, comfortable and spacious. We founds the drinks to be well priced too.

The wedding ceremony was held in a lovely room which had been beautifully decorated. The dining room was lovely too and we enjoyed a splendid meal. All staff seemed to be on the ball and food was served timeously.

Our room was quite huge and was very well appointed. Housekeeping was efficient. Ample toiletries, towels, tea & coffee making facilities etc ( no scrimping here)

All in all, a lovely wedding and a nice weekend.

We stayed this week at the Kingsmill Club in a retreat room. We have stayed before. Although the room and bathroom are excellent (as was breakfast) we felt that the two day trip was somewhat marred by the arrangements for corporate parties booked at the same time. In particular it was impossible to park when we returned after a day away (around 4pm). This was was due to a 'very large funeral party'.Both evening meals were overshadowed - the first by a hen night (so the bar was full) and the second night for a curling function and the funeral and on this night we had to eat in the Inglis restaurant (not our choice). The food certainly suffered with scotch broth not home made (I guess it was Baxters) and a very mediocre breaded fish. Sad really - I hope they get the corporate side sorted out - perhaps with a car park at the rear and think about keeping the catering for functions completely separate for the poor residents who choose to stay there based on facilities such as onsite parking, etc. Oh - and it took nearly 10 mins to get two pints of Peroni at the bar with only two people in front of us to serve. Would also question the marketing of a retreat room - I preferred the cocoon room we had on a previous stay - the patio (and room window) this time stared straight into a brick wall.

Room Tip: Retreat rooms great if you get ones looking over the golf course - otherwise don't bother. Other...

I organized a last minute getaway for my boyfriend and I where we were looking for somewhere to relax and indulge. Unfortunately we couldn't get a slot in the spa to receive any treatments but we used the swimming pool/sauna facilities that were great. We stayed in the separate building opposite to the main hotel entrance. The room was fantastic and we had a view that over seen the golf course. The bedroom was lovely, large and very relaxing atmosphere. We ate within the hotel, the food was great but the table service wasn't very attentive and the prices of drinks were extremely high. All in all, a lovely visit. I would definitely recommend.
