We just checked out of the Culloden House this morning after a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The setting and the house are beautiful, the room comfortable and the service excellent. We particularly enjoyed the sitting room for pre dinner cocktails, and the fact your dinner order is taken and you are escorted to the table when your food is ready to be served. A full breakfast is also included in the room rate.

Elegant and stately, Culloden House is like going back in time to experience some of Scotland's history. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were spacious (we stayed in the garden mansion rooms). As you might expect from a house over 300 years old, some of the furnishings were "historic" and a bit tired. However, it is part of the charm. Listening to the bagpiper play while enjoying drinks in the lounge was a nice touch. The best part of CH is the staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Many have been employed there for twenty plus years and you can tell they genuinely care for their guests. Breakfast was made to serve and was excellent. It is a great location, with many golf courses and tourism sites very accessible within a short drive. Don't miss the Culloden Battle Field and the Clava Cairns. We also enjoyed lunch at the Cawdor Tavern and visited Cawdor Castle and Loch Ness.

This property is a great way to stay near Inverness (but not directly in the city), and near to the airport if you have to fly out the next day. The hotel will gladly arrange a taxi for you if you want to spend some time in Inverness itself. We chose Culloden House because of the interesting history associated with it, and near to the battlefield. The staff are most friendly and all seemed like they genuinely enjoy their job and take great pleasure in making you feel at home. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It is also worth taking a stroll through the walled garden.

In the evening, we were able to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while being entertained by the bagpiper, followed by a delicious dinner. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return!

Took my mum here as a birthday treat, it was absolutely lovely. Afternoon tea, sandwiches, mini scones, meringues, chocolate dipped strawberrys and other delights. Great service and great banter from the waiter Kyle. Afterwards a nice little walk around the beautiful walled garden.

My husband and I were excited to stay at the Culloden House because we read so much about the battle of Culloden and Bonnie Prince Charlie. It was a very nice hotel, very clean and posh and expensive, but it was kind of a let down because we just expected... Not necessarily a guided tour, but perhaps more accessible information on the history of the house. Would fully recommend it to someone with no worries about travel expenses.

Dear JSkelly1,

Thank you for your 5 star review and I am delighted to read that you overall enjoyed the experience.

Culloden is a house with a lot of history and I can only assume that you never saw the history of the house which we place in all bedrooms plus the reception area. They are available on a complimentary basis for guests to take with them and if you would care for one we would be more than happy to post one to you.

I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future.

Kind regards,

Stephen Davies
