Owner description: Opened in 1993 by Prince Edward, Inverness Botanic Gardens, formerly Inverness Floral Hall & Gardens, are an oasis of calm and beauty within walking distance of the city centre. With each new season the outside gardens are an explosion of colour and texture, and borders are planted to demonstrate a wide variety of plants and growing conditions. The impressive glasshouses reveal the drama of plant diversity ranging from the tropical rainforests to arid, heat scorched desert.

“A pleasant walk from the city”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

Just a mile walk along the river bank brings you to the free entry Floral Hall, situated opposite the sports complex.
It had started to rain when we arrived so we only toured the two glass-houses. Quiet surroundings and some excellent plants in a very well maintained environment.
As it was still raining we gave the remaining outside exhibits a miss and had coffee and cake in the tea room.
A good afternoon out.

“a hidden jewel”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

The Floral Hall is not well advertised but it should be.It is exquisite--a miniature botanic garden..We were unaware of its beauty. We had heard the name but no-one had said anything about how beautiful it is.We went by chance since our granddaughter had her wedding photos taken there. We were amazed by it and intend to visit regularly.

“Worth a Visit”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Interesting gardens with greenhouses featuring rainforest and desert plants. Even in late October there were plenty of plants outside still in flower. As this attraction is free to enter, it is definitely worth a visit if you have the time.

“Lovely with the right weather”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Peaceful grounds with beautiful flowers. The cafe is expensive but plenty of tasty cake on offer. Well worth a visit but it helps if you have a car.
