“Great little museum”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Not the biggest museum you will ever visit but plenty of pre-history of the local area along with the usual miltiary and local business history.

Great way to while away an hour or two in Inverness.

“Informative and Interesting”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

I visited this attraction whilst touring around the Highlands this summer and would recommend it. The museum was both interesting and informative about the history of the local area. The art work was also great to see. We spent a good 1-2 hours here and would recommend as something to visit if you're visiting the area.

“A fantastic day out”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Anyone who has ever visited the Highlands of Scotland and had questions raised about the "Major" points of interest (Geology, Jacobites etc) can find the answers in the easy to follow, interesting to read and pleasant to look at exhibuits in this bijou museum. The Art Gallery seems to change its theme regularly, during my visit it featured the Prestonpans Tapestry. I would like to commend the knowledgable and welcoming staff, in particular Brenda the attendant whose enthusiasm for the exhibits was both tangible and infectious. I shall certainly be coming back whenever I am in the area If I could have given 6 stars I would!!!

“Interesting”

If you have time, definitely stop by this little museum. My daughter (6) really enjoyed it. It is free (donations encouraged) and the exhibits are interesting.

“Interesting but not a must-see”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

The museum had interesting exhibits of natural and historical elements reflective of the area. A temporary exhibit from Egypt also was good, though not extensive. Most were in very good condition. Staff were helpful.
