Stayed here recently (10th June) and had a lovely family room/suite which was faultless, very good check-in procedure, good staff, lovely grounds, great bed, lounge and outdoor decking for relaxing etc. Bit odd not having a bar which is probably a pain for staff. We didn't eat through the restaurant was very smart
Only one negative was a decidedly dodgy eggs Benedict.

My husband and I attended a family wedding in this hotel on the 1st June. We were very pleased with the room we had. It was really lovely and clean and very big with a sitting room and ensuite bathroom which was very clean. The staff were very helpful and made our stay overnight very enjoyable, the wedding was very good and it was nice to see everybody again. The breakfast was very good there was a great selection of food there is nothing we could fault this hotel.

A last minute discovery by the wife!! We were on our way to Inverness, and being warned of the mundane nature of the city, had opted for a hotel in Aveimore, about 30 miles from Inverness. The wife decided that it would be better to stay in the city and started doing some research on our drive up. Was very lucky to have got place at The Loch Ness, and and glad that she did!

Charming location, right on the banks of the River Ness, with beautiful walks, nice gardens, lovely breakfast. Very reminiscent of an old country home, straight out of the picture books!

The room we had was very adequate for the four of us, was well appointed and had all the amenities. John, at the front desk, was an exceptional host, who added just that little bit to our stay.

The breakfast was very adequate, with all the usual frills. Eggs, ham, bacon, juices cereals etc. We did not get a chance, but was made to believe that they had an excellent dinner. Can definitely vouch for the fact that their menu looked stunning

A definite recommendation......two thumbs up!

We book this hotel on the reviews I had read, upon arrival we were disappointed
The receptionist was excellent and we were welcomed and guided to our suite, then it felt wrong.
The room felt like a spare room, unloved, tatty decoration, rotation windows, the bathroom was dirty, bidet leaking, dirty bath.
Upon further inspection the the room was dusty and need a good clean and polish.

We had no choice but to leave immediately as this fell short of our expectations for the high room charge. The manager did offer us an alternative room, however first impressions do count with us.
I am sorry to leave this review but it is the truth and I believe others need to be aware.
We had to source other accommodation at short notice.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your review. I am disappointed to read that you did not have an enjoyable experience with us. The duty manager inspected your room and had found that it was not to our usual housekeeping standard and for this please accept our sincere apologies.

I cannot understand your depiction of the bedroom - anyone else reading should look at the rest of the reviews on our junior suites for an accurate description. It is a shame that you were not willing to give us another chance to move room and then enjoy all of what the hotel has to offer. I am confident you would have been leaving a very different review had you done so.

If ever back in the area please do get in touch and we will ensure you are very well looked after.

Kind Regards

Arran McMaster
General Manager

This is the second time that we have stayed here, the first time was the 9th May when we were combining our anniversary and a Christmas pressie for my husband (flying lesson). This stay was cut short by an emergency delivery of our granddaughter. This weekend we tried again for the flying lesson but the foggy day canceled that. The saving grace was this hotel, on arrival the original building is beautiful, service at reception exceptional, room very clean, although starting to be tired especially the bathrooms (stayed twice different rooms), the rooms are fantastic. If you want modern don't come here, if you want warmth, cleanliness, original old wooden furniture, real fires come here, it is sooo relaxing, romantic, comfy. Last but not least the food, well, it is exceptional, every mouthful is just sensational, I have tried food that I thought I wouldn't like (pig cheek) wow taste sensation, melt in the mouth, this weekend we had seafood starter, then the fillet steak with beef cheek and tongue, followed by the strawberry cheesecake, sorbet changed for salted Carmel ice cream, oh my god, I have never tasted food like this before, thank you so much for a fantastic overnight stay and a wonderful food experience.

On a long trip north from Cumbria to the Orkneys, Inverness seemed like an ideal spot to do an overnight stop.rather than stay in the town centre we opted for a country house hotel nearby for peace, views and easy parking.

The location is nearly perfect but not on Loch Ness, nor any views of the loch; even so it was in beautiful surroundings and I would recommend it for someone wanting several days having a peaceful time as well as what we required.

First impressions where much more than expected. A slightly overpowering air within the staff but perhaps they didn't have enough to do- a lot better than being ignored. The bed room was spectacular, large large bed and large views. Supplemented by a sitting room and on suite again very large.

Dinner was proceeded by a drink in the lounge, no separate bar but that was not a major problem. The lounge itself like a lot of the building is very classy comfortable and looks onto the grounds- again you could spend a lot of time here very very easily.

dinner itself was both very good but could be an acquired taste. Starter was 1 scallop that seemed a bit mean but exquisitely done. Overall we very much enjoyed it. On the high side for price but probably correctly valued for the type of food. So don't come here for a cheap weekend.

Sleep was completely and absolutely the best. This hotel gets the best bed in Scottish hotels award. We didn't want to get out.

Breakfast was very good with great black pudding and haggis..

Overall a very happy find, a great room and bed, good food and beer. Downsides few no lift no bar and a bit pricy once all the extras are added in. We would stay again and possibly enjoy a few days

Room Tip: A garden view

Good customer service is not something you often get nowadays. My experience staying at the Loch Ness Country House Hotel was faultless - staff were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much fuss!

My only slight comment would be that as i stayed for two nights it would have been good for a bit more variation of the menu. The food was fantastic - not sure about white choc bread but still an experience.

Lovely hotel, i left a substantial tip upon leaving because it was so nice.

Room Tip: Rooms looking into the gardens are stunning
