“Very lovely stay”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights this past week. Peter was an amazing host who provided us with fabulous information about the city as well as a delicious breakfast. Very accomodating! The rooms were very clean, had lots of space, and en suite bathroom. Location is a 15 minute walk from the train station. A very pleasant 10 minute walk along River Ness to get to the city centre. Can't recommend this B&B enough.

Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Breakfast wonderful! Peter's Scrambled egg especially to be recommended. The best we have ever had!
Nice and clean everywhere and Peter and Zhanara most helpful - Even put a load of washing on for us and let me wash the car after the seagulls had attacked it!

I felt more like I was in a hotel than a person's home. I realize that this is a business, but the furnishings were odd (Caribbean-themed?), there were cold-feeling fire doors everywhere, and the hostess never appeared. I was actually looking forward to breaking out my Russian for practice (that's actually why we chose this B&B), but I never had the chance. The host was friendly enough, but he didn't have that warm touch that most B&B's have. He was rough and brusque, though definitely friendly and answered all questions with good knowledge. The room was noisy, too, as the windows opened onto the main highway into town. The tea setting was store-brand stuff and the breakfast room crammed too many seats into too small of a space. We were able to walk downtown, though it was a little bit of a hike, still doable. Heathcote just wasn't up to par on other B&B's I've had the pleasure to frequent, just no personality, but definitely a good stay. You could do a lot worse.

Room Tip: ask for a room that doesn't face the front highway

I will start this review with a HUGE thank you to Peter and Zhanara! You made me feel like i was truly at home - not just a guest in a B&B. 10 days away from my family was never going to be easy, but you both made me feel relaxed and comfortable.
My room was clean, well equipped and spacious. Tea, coffee and water are available in the room and replenished on a daily basis. Multi channel TV was great, but i never finished watching any movies as the comfy bed put me to sleep so quickly!
My room was cleaned daily and it was great coming back to a fresh, clean room after a long day out. The large bathroom was also spotlessly clean!
Every morning a continental breakfast was laid out on the table & accompanied by a full scottish breakfast (bacon, eggs, sausage, tomato, etc...) Peter ALWAYS asked which kind of eggs i preferred & was happy to make whatever.
Forever helping other guests find their way around Inverness and Scotland while looking after them at your B&B, i am sure that I am just one of many who knows that when i return to Inverness the first place i book will be Heathcote.
Thank you for making my trip even more memorable & i look forward to seeing you (and your family) again soon!

Room Tip: Room number 7 great for couples and single travelers. The family rooms are also spacious and will sl...

This place didn't offer much in the way of personality, either from the owners or the decor etc.

It was far from awful -- just not the best you can do.

Location's decent.

We arrived late on the day of travelling and were made to feel extremely welcome. Peter and Zhanara were exceptional hosts and we were made to feel very much at home. Clean towels daily, rooms made up daily, regular daily updates on the weather and everything else in life for that matter from Peter. Spacious and airy rooms and a great location for access to the Highlands and night life in Inverness. Plenty of space for parking at the rear of Heathcote. There was a nice little feature on the staircase of menus and features from quality restaurants in the surrounding areas. We would return to Heathcote for sure anytime. Go and check it out....the welcome and family feel to the place is compelling...

Room Tip: A room at the rear overlooks the side of Heathcote and the car park, yet it was very quiet.
