Tour of Skye: My sister, eight year old daughter and myself had an amazing tour of Skye. John was a wonderful tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Highland history, which added to an already wonderful experience. The tour was absolutely worth every penny and was the highlight of our two week trip to the UK. If I every get a chance to go back to Scotland, I will booking another tour!

We booked a day tour with John McDonald of The Hebridean Explorer.
We had the most delightful experience with John exploring the Scottish Highlands.
John, a native Highlander, is knowledgeable of his native country and his national pride shows throughout the tour.
We booked a private tour because we wanted the freedom to explore the countryside at our own pace and to see things that we specifically wanted to see. The experienced advice of a native Scotsman was also a plus.
John McDonald far exceeded our expectations.
Our visit to Scotland was made remarkable and memorable because of John McDonald of Hebridean Explorer and we can only give him the strongest of recommendations.

We had a lovely, relaxed day out with John touring whisky distilleries - his suggested itinerary suited us really well, and made the best use of our (limited) time. John's knowledge of whisky and the Speyside distilleries took the headache out of having to organise it all ourselves. And plus, he is a great tour guide, with a fascinating knowledge of the history of the Highlands.....we recommend him highly and hope to meet up with him again one day.

Our group of 5 spent a full day with John on a tour of Isle of Skye and it was a terrific experience. John is entertaining and friendly and knows the culture and history of the area as only a local could. Much better than a large tour. John knew the best spots for views, and pictures including a few hidden treasures. Would give this tour the highest rating and would 'nt hesitate to book another tour with John.

We had a lovely day out with John this August. Can't recommend him highly enough! He was very accommodating, more than happy to meet our party of 7 in Fort Augustus and work from there. The tour was well-paced, enjoyable both for our young children, my husband and myself, and the three grandparents. Don't miss the oppportunity to see Rogie Falls!

It was lovely for my husband to have someone else do the driving for the day, and fantastic for me to have someone else in charge of all the planning and all the little details. We vacation in Scotland every year. This was the first time we hired a guide, hoping to give the grandparents (on their first and likely only trip to Scotland) a trip to remember. John certainly followed through! He's informative and funny. Loved, too, that he answered questions from our five year old with just as much attention and consideration as he did everyone else's. He made the day incredibly special, and we look forward to booking a tour with him again nexty summer!
