“When small means absolutely tiny”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2011

Booked a standard double room with private facilities.
We knew it was a small double but as it was for 1 night we were not unduly concerned but his was by far the smallest room we have ever stayed in with a tiny window..Smaller even than the cabins we have been in on cruise ships. We could only stand up one at a time. We moved the bed out a maximum 6" so that my husband could walk round (he has slight mobility issues) and could not have rolled over me to get out to use the facilities. We had to negotiate round furniture to get out to use the facilities
Private facilities to me mean more than a sink in the room! We had a hall and a few stairs to negotiate to get to the toilet and shower -not even adjacent to the room
Bit worried that the kettle facility was placed above the bed on a narrow shelf -health and safety issues here especially as the room was so cramped.!
Were pleased we were only there for 1 night as it was impossible to sit comfortably and there was no residents lounge to sit in.
On the positive side the owner couldn't have been more helpful and polite and the guest house itself was immaculately clean.
There was a good array of tea coffee etc as well as 2 types of biscuit and bottled water provided.
The breakfast was very good -served efficiently- and there was a good selection of cereals fruit etc.
In conclusion this room is much more suited to a single bed and solo occupancy and the private facilities should be specified to avoid disappointment.

Room Tip: The roomwas at the front and a bit noisy with people returning home after the pubs came out.Perhaps...

For the price this is one of the best (if not the best) b&b experiences we have had. Our hosts were friendly and attentive, the services good and the room great. I would recommend Armadale guest house to anyone.

We stopped over in Inverness on Friday night with friends and we were very well received and were given a very personalised service. The rooms were very clean and the room felt really homely. The owner even gave us a ride into town so that we could pick up a hire car we booked earlier. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great comfortable stay

On arriving at Armadale we were a little disappointed that our room was not ready, Niam politely asked us if we could leave our bags and come back in one hour. A little miffed we went back to Armadale which was only 200 metres from the city centre to discover that due to the fact that it was our first wedding anniversary he had made an extra special effort with our room. It was Lush! Biggest and most comfortable bed we had ever slept in. Stunningly clean room, toilet and bathroom, widescreen Tv, coffee making facilities, hot chocolate, tea, cookies and bottled water supplied! Breakfast included cereals, warm croissants, a selection of cooked breakfasts (including a cooked vegetarian), Niam will also whip up any combination of what's on the menu with as much toast as you dare ask for. Extremely warm welcome. well done Armadale. Next time we go back to Inverness we know where to go ( Especially when we paid £60 per night for a double Room! )

We were lucky to get a twin room to stay in, Armadale is centrally located, the river Ness is nearby and across it is the old town of Inverness. We arrived in the morning and were provided with a great breakfast. Naim is very attentive and we were surprised that when we returned to Armadale in the evening he had taken our heavy luggage all the way to the top floor where the Twin Room is. At breakfast Naim and his wife were again attentive and kind. Our last day we had to get to the Bus station and Naim kindly took us there in his car. If I know anyone who wants to take a trip to the Highlands of Scotland I will tell them to check the Armadale for vacancies, it is really a fantastic place to stay in Inverness.

Room Tip: Book fast, this is a popular B&B!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this bed&breakfast in Inverness for 1 night during our travelling in the north of Scotland. This accomodation was really perfect, clean, very good furnished. We also had some refreshment in the room - biscuits, tea bags, coffee... En-suite bathroom was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly, they fully conformed to us with the the breakfast (earlier time, type of breakfast) and recommended us what to visit by the way home. We were very very satisfied with this b&b !
