Description: Bella Italia in Inverness boasts a prime city centre location close to the riverside and just moments away from Inverness Castle. The dining room is an inviting space decked out in Bella Italia's signature rustic style. Warm tones, tiled flooring and walls adorned with huge poster prints create a welcoming ambience. As for the food, the a la carte menu is wide and varied featuring a good selection of pizzas, pasta and grilled meat and fish. There is also a superb set menu where you could be tucking into an Italian salad for starters followed by crispy pancetta and mushroom penne pasta with an Italian wine sauce and rounded off with cream filled profiteroles with a hot chocolate sauce.

“Good wine, but food could do with more flavour”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

My husband and I went here for a meal whilst staying at a hotel nearby. I ordered a cheese, ham and mushroom pizza but it had no taste at all. My husband ordered the meatball calzone which was better but still lacking a little. The wine however was very nice. The staff were very busy I think it was a little busier than they were expecting but they were still there to help. We were very amused by the 'ITALIAN' accent of one of the waiters think he was from anywhere but Italy but it was a nice touch.

“Lunch time visit”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

We visited this restaurant yesterday at 12 noon, it was quite quiet which suited us and I'm sure the one waitress....it proceeded to get very busy and it meant what looked like the manager having to step into the kitchen to help out....

The waitress coped really well even though there was now a steady stream of people coming in, people were having a bit of a wait for food but they seemed content to wait and chat.....

In the end she did have to let people know that there would be a 15 minute wait for food to give the kitchen a chance to catch up on food orders...

The restaurant looked clean apart from a heater hanging off the wall?! Which looked really dangerous and not a pretty sight!

The food was good and reasonably priced....

Toilets seemed a bit of an issue? We could only find the one toilet with a disabled/baby sign on the door, we both looked and this did seem to be the only toilet for everyone.

As the waitress was so busy but still remained friendly and professional I didn't want to bother her and ask....

All in all a good little place to eat and we would return.....

“Fantastic meal for three very different tastes”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

We'd decided that whilst on our holiday we would avoid the usual restaurants we prefer and have something a little different, opting for Italian and hence Bella Italia.

The restaurant was easy to find and provided a warm welcome, with arrangements quickly made for out two-year-old son.

Orders were taken quickly and we opted just for a starter and main course for ourselves, whilst our son would have their take on a kid's meal.

Starters included Garlic Prawns for my wife (which she enjoyed thoroughly), Breadsticks for the little one (which must have been good, as he defended them very fiercely) and Calamari for myself (Also brilliant, especially as the little one snaffled a few himself.

Mains included the steak, which set a new bar for my wife who was amazed by how tasty and juicy it was and my first Calzone, which is something I'll definitely be having again. The little ones pizza didn't go down too well, but he certainly loved the meatballs.

Whilst we let dinner go down, junior had the strawberry icecream, which he did allow us to taste and was absolutely delightful.

For a chain restaurant, the place had a great, intimate atmosphere and great service, adding up to a great experience for all of us. Will certainly consider visiting again the next time we are in the area.

“Best Bella Italia we've been to”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

On an overnight stop in Inverness we wanted a good value restaurant where we knew the menu. We chose Bella Italia as it was n an easy to find location. This particular one had a fantastic atmosphere, nicely laid out on two levels, with tables nicely spaced. It was not overly busy and the waiters purposely sat you so you were not on top of other diners. A lovely candle lit atmosphere and really good food, nicely presented. If we only lived nearer we would return without a doubt.
