“A special treat!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Beautiful decor and surroundings and the service was first class. My wife had 3 courses and I had 2 courses. We had wine and coffees and it came to £112. Seems expensive but we didn't mind as the food was delicious. A lovely place for a special occasion. We saw they did bar meals and that seemed very good value. We'd definitely pop in for a bar meal.

“Top notch”
Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

We ate here on opening night and the following night (lucky to receive complimentary invitations) to sample the experience and help hone the offering. Since those early days we have eaten here on half a dozen or so occasions, a mixture of business and pleasure. We have never been disappointed. Having worked in London for 30 years we have been lucky to sample multiple offerings from the smallest Covent Garden cafe to The Dorchester. Moving to Inverness 5 years ago was a culture shock with no decent restaurants, museums or galleries. Happily the beautiful scenery, laid back approach and the fantastic local community amongst who we have the privilege to live, more than compensate for this. Rocpool Reserve was viewed suspiciously by a lot of locals, who had sadly grown accustomed to The Kitchen and The Mustard Seed as the pinnacle of their "fine dining" experience. Rocpool and Cafe 1 are notable exceptions, and join Rocpool Reserve in the top 4 arguably. The 4th is Loch Ness Country House Hotel. Rocpool Reserve sets itself apart as being adventurous in its approach and the service is second to none. Pigs head sounds unnappealing but is an absolute treat, the use of offal or "lesser cuts"in fine dining usually separates the men from the boys and Rocpool achieves this perfectly. The a la carte is genuinely creative and is an interesting read rather than a dull formulaic cop out. Variety of the offering is as you would expect at this level, and after the main course you will surely find a divine dessert which will delight even the most scathing reviewer. Wake up Inverness and start dining here, forget Brake Brothers just for once !

“Great food and brilliant service”
Reviewed December 24, 2012

Outstanding service from the minute we walked up the steps. Complimentary canapés served with pre lunch drinks served in the lounge area. Food was beautifully presented and tasted really good. We will be back!

“not at all happy”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

First we called and were told that the menu was between 14 and 22 pounds. We got an ala carte of 28 pounds each. Asked for the souflee and were charged an extra 1.50 pounds which was OK because it wasn't on the menu, but it wasn't great. That would have been enough for a meal for me, but the main meal was pollock, salmon and beans. Beans!!!!!!!!! Ice cream to finish, but the bill came to 72 pounds!!!!!!!!!! my son enjoyed the food but I found it too over priced and too filling. Too much and too costly
