Owner description: Highland Aviation Museum is a family friendly, educational attraction just next to Inverness Airport. You can see a range of real life historic military aircraft and even go inside & pretend to be a fighter pilot. For the more avid enthusiasts, there are a wealth of technical facts and historical artifacts to browse. Our displays contain materials dating back as far as WW1. Come along to enjoy a great couple of hours.

Badly signposted but if you have kids well worth finding. Took my 4yr and 6yr olds and had great time being a pilot. Sitting in a real cockpit and being allowed to touch and play is something you don't get in many places. Staff even brought out flying helmet from inside displays for them to wear. As in one review these are real plane parts and not a softplay so you can't let children run around, but then you would miss their enjoyment. Really fascinating and worth every penny. We will be back.
Not wheelchair friendly as you can imagine as it involves climbing into all exhibits.

Recently visited the Museum on a wet Scottish summer day with my twelve year old son and my wife, greatly impressed with the various air craft on display as well as the staff who run this as volunters who have a genuine commitment to the role that they carry out, as their knoweledge into the aircraft and displays on the site is truely impressive, a must see if you are in the area,

Visited today with our 4 year old son. Was shown round by the enthusiatic and extremely knowledgeable, Stan who was an ex Nimrod pilot. His stories re his experiences and info was amazing! Able to sit in most cockpits and explore the bodies of the aircraft. Absolutely fascinating and worth every penny! Would visit again and again!

Very informative and the kids and grandparents just loved it. All had their photos taken in the cockpits and sat in cockpits of planes 'gone by'. The gentleman in the museum took time to share his memories and show the vast array of items that they have collected over the years.
