“Yummy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

Small and cozy, good service, and the food was very good with a great choice too.
It's in an excellent position at the head of Loch Ness, one of the best views in Scotland, although you cannot see that view from inside the restaurant.
Didn't book for lunch today, but got seated anyway. Apparently better to book in advance though to avoid disappointment.

“By Loch Ness”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

A picturesque village pub by the shores of loch ness in the highland village of Dores friendly atmosphere with a great selection of beers and spirits food is of a high standard and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
Only a short drive from Inverness and the location gives stunning views of the loch busy in the summer but well worth the visit

“A must for tourists !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

Set on the banks of Loch Ness, and right behind the venue for Rock Ness, The Dores in is one of our favourite places to visit.
Its a 45min trip from our home in Nairn but well worth the effort.
To start they have great real ales as well as plenty of other options re long drinks and shorts such as whisky, gin etc.
We have always had a polite, courteous welcome from the waiting staff who are very knowledgeable re the menu and daily specials.
In fact, at the moment we are suffering from a bit of a Dores Inn withdrawal as the weather has not been conducive to the drive down the 'quiet' side of Loch Ness.
Even my sometimes fussy mother in law loves it !!
So guess where I'm heading on Saturday !!!

“Avoid the millionaire shortbread”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

We stopped for a coffee and cakes after enjoying a walk along the stunning beach at the north end of Loch Ness. The Dores Inn was very busy but we got a seat in the pub. The service was good and the coffee OK but the millionaire shortbread was so chewy it was impossible to finish. They really need to improve the standard of their tray bakes.
