Having had two lunches at the Dores Inn, we were left on both occasions feeling like we had experienced the best. The food is wonderful, especially the sea bass, the mussels and the lamb shanks. Sticky toffee and prune pudding with cream was a great choice for pudding. Service is friendly and warm; the restaurant was cozy and welcoming; everything was fabulous. They even have a sign saying Dogs Welcome. Afterwards we had a two hour hike through the forest right next to the Inn, to walk off the excellent fare. Do make a booking, especially on the weekends, as the place gets (understandably) busy and popular.

Ate here on a recent trip to Scotland- very picturesque setting on the shores of Loch Ness. The restaurant is very old but cozy and nice inside and has alot of "old atmosphere. They had a nice selection on the dinner menu with quite a few evening specials-Prices were very reasonable!"I had haddock-a local fish it was good served nicely, my husband had steak-and he said it was good and tender!
They have a nice selection of cocktails and local ales and beers-nice to try some different ones. We just enjoyed saying we had been on the banks of Loch Ness although we did not spot Nessie while we were there!

My wife and had lunch last week and it was excellent.
Started with soup which could have been a main course and followed by steak and kidney pie.
Finished with the Scottish cheeses and oatcakes.

Great location with Cosey surroundings and nice service.

Value for money
All in all excellent.

This is definitely the top restaurant to go to in and around Inverness. The staff are so helpful and the pub has a very homely feel to it. Best of all they allow dogs into the bar and our big dog, George was welcomed in with a big bowl of water! The food is always of a very high standard and they use lots of local, fresh ingredients. You won't be disappointed!

I have eaten in the Dores Inn maybe 10 times in the last couple of years, and I have never had a disappointing meal. The food is first class, and very reasonably as well. A beer and a couple of courses usually cost under £20.

There is usually an excellent selection on the specials menu, although their regular menu is varied and changes every few months or so.

Best Meal - Seafood Rissotto
Strangest Meal - Duck with Artichoke (come on that just doesn't go) although to be fair I did go back 2 days later and have it again to double check.
Regular Favourite - Chocolate Pudding
