I stayed in the By-the-bridge apartments. Apartment No. 100.

The furniture is great, the 2 bedroom apartment is of a very good size. The balcony is huge and you have a excellent view from there.

The apartment was very clean. Free cable and wifi internet.

The location couln`t be better.

Robin was very welcoming and friendly.

Only a few faults:

- The beds aren`t as comfy as they could be. One was very firm and the other one a rather cheap spring mattress.
- one of the balcony doors didn`t close properly.
- Check-out time 10 AM is quite early.

This apartment & Highland Apartments are highly recommendable and give you a great value compared to a soulless hotel room.

Hi there - thank you for your review. All our mattresses tend to be on the firm side (is this a Scottish thing?!) but we will replace the mattress in the second bedroom now thanks to your feedback. For info, the last mattress we replaced, in Apt 205 last November, is the most comfortable mattress of them all - soft and accommodating yet firm and deep!! There is a knack to shutting the balcony doors because they are all too heavy for their frames - if you had asked we would have come to the apartment to show you; however we shall mention this in our apartment folder as something to look out for. Checkout times - sorry, we have tried 11am but most people then leave at 11.30 (leaving us 3.5 hours for apartment cleaning till check-in time at 3pm)......maybe we'll compromise and try 10.30! It is possible to ask for a late checkout and we do not charge for this. But hey - I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed in flat #210 and this review applies only to that apartment.

From the well-decorated rooms with comfortable furniture to the two large flat screen TVs, this apartment is a wonderful place to stay. The rainfall shower in the bath was refreshing and the half bath near the entry door was invaluable. Secure underground parking, washer/dryer, double ovens, and high speed wireless internet access completed the picture. The small balcony gave views of the castle and the river Ness.

A short walk in either direction got you to one of three groceries, and there are several nice restaurants also within walking distance. Eastgate shopping mall is just down the street. Easy access to major roads in all directions, as well as the rail station a sort walk away. A tourist information office is just across the street.

The management team was extremely responsive to any questions or situations that arose with a very friendly and caring attitude. We plan on a return visit.

Great break from B&Bs. Even though flat is sort of small, has everything you need. Comfy queen-sized bed, shower, bath, laundry, drying rack, sufficient kitchen. Location great for getting into town and to shopping.

The service was excellent, in the respect that the house keeping was very low key, so that you were only aware of their presence due to the fact that the apartment was spick and span, towels changed, beds made on our return (as if by magic).

The apartment and it's amenities was exceptional and exceeded our expectations.

The location of the apartment to local amenities and attractions was spot on.

The WOW factor for us started the moment we booked our holiday and we received a personalised email from the proprietor giving us information on the apartment, restaurants and attractions.

If we are pushed to be picky, the only fault we could mention would be a couple of blown light bulbs!!!! However this did not not in slightest detract from our enjoyment of the apartment.

After scouring the internet for somewhere to stay I can across this little gem! Turns out we were able to book out due to a very late cancellation... many thanks to those who cancelled!

As soon as the booking was confirmed I received emails concerning information about the apartment and suggested restaurants and places to visit. Robin was also very welcoming when I collected the keys.

The apartment itself is in a prime location overlooking the river and next to the castle. Yes the apartments are above a couple of pubs and restaurant but we barely heard any noise (stayed on the third floor, apartment 304). The apartments are set back from the roadside slightly.

The standard of decor in the apartment was first class. The towels were also of a high quality. We didn't have any issue with hot water as we remembered to boost the cistern a couple of hours in advance.

We didn't find a folder with information but mangaed perfectly well without one. In our apartment the second bedroom was extremely hot at night, opening the roof skylight only seemed to encourage the seagulls to chatter more! Only a minor point however.

Overall I would highly recommend the apartments and won't hesitate to use them in the future. I only hope they don't become too popular!!

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better!
